Another one who went to Mount Carmel in Ealing and then Latymer.
Felt like a fish out of water for years there but got to like it in the end. It’s quite the place these days, not a chance I can send my kids there!
The playing fields were great, still there although I got an email the other day to say the school are moving to a new ground, they’re going to keep them as playing fields though and other schools are to use them.
Used to love the runs round the river, the “bandstand” and the “Briault Cup”
They've tried this before, anyone at the first Sky game at Maine Road?
At half time on a shitty Monday night in Moss Side Sky brought out fireworks, cheerleaders and Undercover to do his crap cover version of Baker Street, while the whole crowd either ignored it or told them to fk off.
I think it lasted a few weeks before they quietly binned it
Now the season feels over felt a bit detatched from today’s game.
We definitely deserved something, draw would have been a fair result. They looked good and I think they’ll go up but we lived with them and lost to better finishing plus weak defending in the air for both goals. Letting the ball bounce for the second goal was not good enough but what a finish.
Their lanky 21 in midfield was excellent and if only Madsen had turned out like him
Been going there for over 40 years now for Rangers games, other pubs don’t feel the same. There was that weird period in the early 2000s when they banned football fans, that didn’t last long.
What’s everyone’s alternatives then? Probably The Adelaide for us
Sadly I think that’s looking less likely every season - he seems happy at Palace, they’re starting to do well and his star faded a bit after his spell at left back during the Euros (thanks Gareth)
His glory period at Barnsley coincided with the Covid rules where you could make loads of subs, and he replaced tons of people through the match after they all ran themselves into the ground for 50 min spells
I thought it was pretty impressive to watch tbh, proper 80s Wimbledon, but I can’t see it going down well at Blackburn
God bless the guy, but when he limped off we were all saying in the stands it may well be a blessing. Sure enough Kolli and Lloyd stepped up and Frey has proved he's worth a place up front and we went on a run.
Based on what I've seen this season Celar has to be fourth choice striker now - loved the goals at Cardiff but he also missed two pretty easy chances in the 0-0 at Watford before getting injured.
Got shown this fella by YouTube afterwards - top work to him and to get it uploaded by the same night…. These kids have inherited Northern’s work ethic
