Not as offended by it as I am by the thought of us wanting to instigate a rivalry with you.

Get to f*ck.

There aren't many towns we can laugh at. Yours is possibly the only one. That's why people turn up.

Given it's 5 miles down the road, it just makes it easy.

Jesus. Without playing the 'aren't you bitter' card, if after coming and doing the job we did yesterday, you don't reckon we're play-off material, head's in the sand

Don't need a derby when we can just turn up and take the piss Kenneth.

Oldham aggro, Oldham aggro, hello, hello.

Shenanigans off the pitch aside, we were good today... Can't deny that. Would've taken a point but we turned up and were so clinical. With all due respect, we're a decent side and will be above a lot of sides come May.

Ha. Someone's been on the wind up. There'll be a fair few in your ends but not many that daft enough to start ballooning in the ground and getting themselves 3 year bans. No doubt there'll be a few 'offs' here and there but I wouldn't be worried about punches to back of the head.

Round in circles. If you fail to recognise that the monotony of 20 years of League 1 football has affected attendances, there's no point arguing. All the clubs mentioned have had relegation and promotions which mixes things up. No doubt our crowds would have picked up if we'd been relegated and been competing at the right end of the table.

Difference between us is potential. You're in your best position for half a century or so.

Another Latics fan here. I posted something similar in a related thread (just after we sold our allocation). Seems Dale fans know better though and, despite numerous people saying the same thing, apparently our dilapidated ground and 20 years of League 1 football doesn't excuse our poorest gates in my lifetime. We're all really excited about playing our rivals.

It's a bus ride away and not taking place at BP. Hardly surprising we're taking a decent following.

Nipping over to watch Oldham at BP is one thing, travelling down to London for finals is another (dare I say it, glory hunting). Tinpot

OK. You win. Nowt more tinpot than having a second team anyway (which it appears you had in the early 90's).

Oxford have been down then up, massive difference. We've been in the same division for 20 years. If you don't think the monotony of playing the same teams year in and year out affects the number of people willing to part with 20 odd quid (without either a promotion or relegation to change things a bit) I reckon you're missing the point.

If and buts, but I've no doubt our crowds would've been higher had we at any point been a League 2 club challenging at the right end of the table.

It means more as it's away. Out home support won't increase on the back of us playing Dale in the return fixture.

No, you're right, it's our cup final and we're all really excited about our big day out at the mighty Dale.

A lot of people will turn up who don't go regularly. As I mentioned previously, our crowds have got progressively worse over the last few years. After 20 seasons in the same division and playing in a 3 sided stadium for the last few years, hardly surprising is it.

Do you genuinely believe we're likely to bring a good following due our hatred of Rochdale or do you just think it's an opportunity for a day out on the beer and a bit of piss taking? (admittedly by a fair few who can't stomach BP at the moment )

Another tinpot Oldham fan here...

In fairness, most Oldham fans aren't arsed about Dale in the slightest. It's a derby in the sense our grounds are five miles apart and it's away day that isn't a chore.

I almost admire the mocking undertones throughout this thread and I'm sure the irony can't be lost on you lot referring to us a 'tinpot'...

Your gates are lower than ours on the back of a promotion and your probably in the highest position you've been in for 30 years. We're a third of the way through our 18th or 19th season in this division so it's hardly surprising people aren't flocking down to BP at the moment. The fact that we can muster 4,000 for an away just emphasises the potential we've got in comparison.

As for the game, long way off and results between now and then (for both sides) might completely change the complexion. We're just getting into gear though and I do think we'll be above you come the 29th and I reckon we'll get a result.

See you all then (or maybe not)
