U's to spook The Robins?
at 08:22 4 Dec 2024

Yes, well done Durham for such a brave prediction.
Does he deserve a Happy League bonus Mick?

The five game run inclusive of two wins is a significant step towards a better season. Maybe the first sign of a turn for the better???
Most important must be that we have kept three consecutive clean sheets. If we keep the run going at Nottingham then the signs really are positive.
Up the creeping up U's!

Absolutely Wessex - as you said 'he got it in the end '.

Indeed the ending personified our club and some characteristics (of the supporters) to which he accurately alluded. We fight on still despite the 18years.

Our Club may be a very sick parrot but it's not dead yet. Our current management know that and the size of the task. In time as was said in the video.....it will turn more favourably.

Probably not yet though!

Very well said.

Balanced overview on life is crucial and far too rare. You're right TooT.
'Depressing' is a very over used word. Often an exaggeration. Those of us who've faced what life can chuck in one's direction know what depressing things really are. Losing football games definitely doesn't qualify.

But I applaud the little film and appreciate the focus on our continually disappointing football club. Like Wessex said the presenter gets it in the end .

I hadn't realised our position as the worst in the EFL awaiting a promotion either.

One final thing, lousy as it's been supporting our club for many recent years FULL marks to the extra 5-800 or so supporters who have raised our gates this season!

Up the U's!

Bantams to chicken out at the JCS against the Colchester Eagles
at 19:34 16 Nov 2024

Precisely!!
Offensive first, defensive later if necessary.
Two strikers minimum at home. Attack and challenge opposition teams.....stop being predictable!

I also believe the worm will turn!

My fingers are permanently crossed Blackcat.
Would like to see more consistent selection if possible with a two man attack. Maybe that could lead to to those wins rather than draws! But I'm sure this sick old worm will turn soon.
I dream of mid table but I'm sure we'll achieve it.......at some stage!
Up the "1-1 specialist last minute one prong attack U's!!!"

Another 1-2 from the U's odd bunch of journeymen.
Sadly the bottom of the table is beginning to get more adrift so a long season inevitably awaits.

Shame we sold Ihionvien and Wilkinson - he scored several again today - and don't play Jay. No continuity and little direct forward play .

As such maybe we play for draws?
Long way to go and it'll feel longer than that.

Indeed Durham. Clearly the Arsenal win was of no intuitive value regarding today's XI.

Flanagan, Gordon, Hunt and Anderson are non lg players yet are chosen above the likes of Jay. It's all rather baffling but I spose we know what we're doing. Trouble is we're 21st as usual.

At least Lyle Taylor does seem to care.
2-7-5 = 13 measly points. A long winter ahead as supporters I think.

I do begin to wonder, as I'm sure do others, if by misfortune or whatever we have arrived at a squad of first team players for whom it doesn't really matter much. Get paid, go home, other stuff....but NOT Colchester United.

I hope I am wrong but I see little to disabuse me of those thoughts. If this is so it wouldn't matter who or what the management was. It couldn't be done.

We present as a spectacularly poor underachieving team.

at 17:42 2 Nov 2024

Sadly exemplified what a poor, poor side we are.
Feel for Matt Jay.
Long season already with precious little progress or joy. And, I suppose, no more than I anticipated but it's still so disappointing to see us so short of quality and determination.
Why it is I guess we'll never know.

Ah well....next week.
