I don't, obviously. Nor did I say that he isn't. I just said that this is what he should be doing, and I hope that he is even though I am not optimistic over the outcomes.

My point, as I stated in the comment, was that unless you ask the question of the club and player, you don't know. I doubt that he would come here personally, but it costs nothing to make enquiries so Huw et al should do just that. A lot.

Glad he's on board. Can only be a positive (you'd hope).

Obviously PC has dibs on "xxxx xxxx's barmy army" so what about Claude? Macarena anyone?

Instead of "heeeeeey, Macarena" - "Claauude, Makelele". Obviously just fill the rest with the obligatory terrace lyrics of na na na to the tune.

........I'll put my tin hat on now and wait for the shells to drop on me........

I wouldn't turn my nose up at any of them, but I wouldn't choose them either.

Carroll - Might well be a player with more to come, but if we were spending the £8-10m being reported on him, I'd feel it was a waste. He is not the dog we need, he is a luxury player (same as JDZ was for those making comparisons on their size).

Olssen - Happy to take him. Not seen him for a little while I admit, but he was a decent enough full back when he was in the PL, albeit not amazing. This is about the best we could hope for as a transfer for this position.

Sakho - I believe he would strengthen our back line and would also add pace to it, but it would still leave the question of who would actually lead the back line? I don't see him as a leader so we'd still potentially have a disjointed defence. Also, at £20m I'd rather not have him at all. If a 6 month loan with the option to buy in the summer, possibly worth a punt.

Narsingh - Happy to admit that I know nothing of him other than the YouTube videos I've seen today. And we all know that they're not worth betting £4m on!

I think we're going to have to keep knocking on doors and begging for players on loan I'm afraid (if we want quality). As stated above by others, our position doesn't make a very attractive proposition at present though.

Unless I've missed it - has anyone (not just us, but ANYONE) tried getting Schweinsteiger on loan for the rest of the season? I've seen nothing and yet he is frozen out at United. He may be getting to retirement but there are a couple of miles left in his legs yet. Ambitious? Unrealistic? Maybe. Only asking the question of United/the player will answer that.

Batshuayi for Llorente?
at 13:28 10 Jan 2017

Personally, and this is purely my opinion, I don't want Llorente to go. Even if it meant having Batshuayi. Llorente has started becoming more important to the way we are playing of late, with his hold up play in particular improving each game. Let him go and we need to find a way of fitting a different striker into our play, which could potentially cost us points.

As for Ulloa - Could be a decent addition to the squad, but I wouldn't be confident in his ability to save us as a first choice striker. Again, only my opinion.

Lack of urgency from above
at 13:18 10 Jan 2017

Whilst in a summer transfer I would agree that it is too soon to expect transfers coming in following the recent managerial roundabout, our current predicament and shortened window make this a more urgent scenario.

Normally you get fed with the "signs signing xx" or "signing expected next week" nonsense for about a week before a signing actually happens. So far, I've not seen anything that looks like a substantiated transfer story involving a player coming to Swansea. That worries me. If we don't see anything of the sort by next week, then it means at least a week before they actually arrive and longer for them to 'settle'.

Also, if the board and BB had already identified targets for this window, and PC and HJ have already discussed these targets (which PC said as much), then surely they have at least 1 player in mind?

Just noticed that Badstuber is in talks with Schalke as well. Strike that one off.

Disgusted.

So I suppose we should all sit through Eastenders and The Voice everytime they're on, just because we pay for a TV licence? I'll leave at whatever time I want to leave, whether that be early or late. Being with a disabled fan, we leave our spot early enough to avoid having to wait for the lift. I hope that's okay with you though.

What about:

AaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAyew Baby,
whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop,
He's our Ghana star!

To the tune of Gangnam Style?

Everyone bouncing around to it doing the dance as they sing it....no? Sorry
