And what are they going to do with these monstrous creations if the SR oafs take us back to League 1 ?? At the Swansea Cup tie it looked like the exec boxes had suffered a collective power cut! It will be tumbleweed blowing through the Knightwood and the Gulags 🙂 |

Impressive list One more offering: We can’t read, we can’t write, that don’t really matter Cos we all come from Southampton and we can drive a tractor That Agboola song, back in the Keegan seasons when the away fans were in the Archers Road end, the Saints fans in the same end would just go Aroo Aroo, Aroo Aroo, Aroo Aroo, Aroo and then stop. They’d keep doing that until the away end did it back as a p@ss take, at which point we’d immediately finish it off with Aroo-ben Agboola de de de de de 😀 The longest an away team’s fans (Man Utd) held out was the 90th minute before doing the chant back. They were furious! Used to watch this unfold from a west stand bench seat near the Archers Road end. Quite amusing at the time to see the away fans reaction when they got mugged with the full song. |

Someone will have to tweak the lyrics of the Bowie song then. AI can re-record it to an acceptable standard. |

Totally agree with you Grumpy, enough is enough. Could not go today (thank God) but tuned out at 0-3. I did watch MOTD and not surprisingly we got slated, I am no fan of Danny Murphy but on this occasion his analysis was spot on, no fight, no pride, no leadership, no clue. He did say the appointment of Duric was 'not ideal' - whatever that means from those 'in the know'?? So, my post-defeat therapy was as follows: forget football until MOTD, so, family time assisted by the best ever Garry Davies Radio 2 Sounds of the 80's Chilled Mix - his first ever two hour Chilled Mix and hit the de-stress spot perfectly. Post suffering the full 5 goals on MOTD, I fired up the still working JVC VCR and watched our 4-1 win over Forest with Channon, Boyer and Ball amongst the scorers, the 3-2 win over Man Utd at The Dell and the 1-0 win at Anfield both in the Keegan era, then onto the 4-1 v Liverpool at The Dell, the 6-3 over Man Utd, then the last Dell game v Arsenal, then onto the Keoman era - especially the Arsenal games and the Mane hat trick in no time at all v Villa. Not forgetting some MLT classics of course... Aided and abetted by plenty of Shepherd Neame Christmas Ales (7%) plus Grand Marnier as a back up. Excellent therapy for the here and now, but in the cold light of day it shows just how much SR have totally fc uk'd up our beloved football club. Right, going to listen to the last 15 mins of 6 Music's The Morning After Mix then call it a day. Should supporting SFC now carry a Government health warning?? |

Promoted last season despite him Almost certainly relegated this season because of him His sacking has lifted a cloud that was suffocating the players and indeed the whole club, good riddance to the arrogant self serving prat. Rasmus ‘embrace failure’ Ankersen also needs his backside booting out of our Club, he, not unlike Martin, is a self obsessed, deluded wannabe guru of football who thinks he knows better than everyone else but knows nothing. In fact, the rest of SR don’t come out of their period of ownership with any credit whatsoever. They have taken an established PL club and turned it into the current laughing stock of the PL in a relatively short space of time. Just wish we could have owners fully invested in our club (like Brighton) and not distracted by some multi-club project that seems to be of no meaningful benefit to SFC if Lis is anything to go by, it just costs us more money every transfer window. | Forum Reply | SFC 5th worst ranked in the PL for paying players who don’t play! at 16:34 22 Dec 2024
If we are ranked 1st not 5th then why are Chelsea shown as top of the rankings with a 1. beside their name to denote they are ranked 1st??? Overall, Southampton are ranked 5th as there are two criteria clubs are judged by, 1) They are ranked by the raw value of all of their players unused minutes and 2) They are ranked by the percentage of their payroll that's going to unused minutes. To give the overall ranking as shown on the site they combine the two separate criteria to give an overall ranking. So, we are the 5th worst ranked as the site and London Saint rightly say. |

| Forum Reply | Are football managers immune from 'Fair Dismissal? at 19:09 10 Dec 2024
Agreed, and to add to it, Martin could claim he wasn’t given the tools to enable him to do his job properly, I.e. quality of players, no established PL CF signed, failure to sign his No.1 requested target O’Riley who went to Brighton ect, ect… Please note I am NOT sticking up for RM here just agreeing it would be very difficult to make a ‘fair dismissal’ happen. The answer lies with rolling contracts. Make all managers contracts 12 months rolling contracts that renew on June 1st every year. Maximum pay-off would then be measured in months and relinquished at the point the manager was re-employed. Yes, it would technically make good managers at smaller clubs more susceptible to being poached and the compo less but if a manager sees what he thinks is a better opportunity they walk anyway (as RM did from Swansea) It would take UEFA to grow a pair and bring this in as a rule to put an end to the nonsense of over rewarding failure for an extended period of time. |

RM should wear a Hat Knut as he appears to have a screw loose 😃 |

| Forum Reply | Is fan sentiment changing? at 12:55 9 Dec 2024
Some years ago David Pleat was co-coms on a live game where the fans were protesting loudly for the manager to be sacked, Pleat’s observation was along the lines of when the fans call for the manager to go the board back him but when they call for the board to go they sack him! I think the Spurs game is the perfect opportunity for the Northam Wall Of Sound to cause maximum embarrassment to SR as it is live on TV and therefore broadcast to the world. To the same tune we first sang Nathan Jones, your football is sh!t (away at Palace after about his sixth game in charge!!) I would suggest the following: 1 - Same song, just swap RM for NJ 2 - Same song, but change lyrics to RM f@@k off out of our club 3 - Same song, but swap SR for RM as in 2 above 4 - Same song, but change lyrics to Our owners are sh!t, our owners are sh!t. sport republic, our owners are sh!t That should get the message across pound and clear. |
