It'll go the way of racism, remember in the 80's the racist moron on terrace 4 who used to shout out "zigger, zigger, zigger shoot that(fill in blank yourself." Thankfully we live in more enlightened times where racist scum can no longer do that , Donald Trump and UKIP notwithstanding. |

Funnily enough reading that weird thread initiated by TOOT and the comment that no-one was bullied on the OMG I immediately thought of the treatment Camul got on there where a little clique of posters harangued, criticised and insulted his every post. Sad news. |

I'm afraid we are in terminal decline as long as Cowling stubbornly continues with internal appointments, who next the under 15's coach? In my view we have a good bunch of players more than capable of remaining in this division, they are let down by an inexperienced manager who's been found out by opposition managers. Unless we get in a hard experienced manager of the type of Westley or Martin Allen then we will be playing Hemel Hempstead, but at least I can walk to the away fixture;-) |

Sounds a bit like the Donald Trump argument, blame everyone else for your own failings. Referees are crap in L2 we know that, that's why they aren't reffing in the Prem. They are crap for all teams not just us. |

Ha, ha yes, the ball boys looked like they had some serious fatigue syndrome. Still not up to the best (in terms of slowness) remember the ones at Wrexham when lost 3-2 the year we went down to the Conference. They looked like gnomes sitting on toadstools. I didn't think the referee at Donny was any worse than others I've seen away this season. |
| Forum Reply | U's draw a blank at Donny Rovers despite impressive second half display at 09:00 17 Oct 2016
Good summary, for a very enjoyable away trip. It was an open and entertaining game, even more so in the second half. We didn't deserve to lose nor win and played reasonably well, looked solid defensively and their goal just came out of nowhere. The worry is that we look alarmingly toothless up front, so why not play Guthrie in his natural position? Interesting chant of 'You don't know what you're doing" from some when Porter was taken off, only a few games in and there are boos at the WHCS and disenchantment expressed at an away game. |

Yeah, I'd forgotten their keeper letting the ball through like he'd oiled his gloves. We had a couple of good chances, the lob and odd decision to head the ball at knee height, but in the end it was one or possibly two attempts on target. I was saying in the pub beforehand play two up front. Guthrie and Porter. |

Well I think Alan Hansen would sum it up as "terrible defending" especially from corners. Every corner they had we looked like conceding. Nearly every corner we had (number in double figures) we took it short and turned them into throw ins. Just like last season we can't defend. |

Looks like I'd better not go to away games then, despite it being in the same postcode as me I didn't bother with this one, or Hartlepool. The two I've seen are Portsmouth and Brighton. Luckily I'm on holiday for another close one, Barnet, but beware I've already got the train tickets for Carlisle and Donny away. |

Played far too defensively, sat back too deep and when we did win the ball up front we had little support and were soon retreating again. The referee was dreadful and never gave us a thing so Wright's foul was inexcusable, the ref was determined to shaft us. I thought Wright looked overweight, slow and off the pace of the game. Very disappointing display, we played like we were in awe of them and should have gone at them as they were clearly low on confidence, which showed in how for most of the game their crowd were quite. Sam Walker was outstanding. Good ground as well. |
| Forum Reply | What is Colchester like nowadays as a place ? at 17:45 21 Aug 2016
I don't visit Colchester very often as I don't go to the WHCS, but on the rare occasions I do I find it run down, tatty and with plenty of scummy low life people. Queen St is particularly bleak and shabby. I visited my old home and the area around Baden Powell Drive was still quite nice. I suspect it's like a lot of places these days, including where I live now, which is basically a London overspill. For me it's lost a lot of its character and charm and is becoming an anonymous "estuary accent" commuter town. I'd certainly never want to move back there. |

Ditto on the reasons for going and the performance, though additionally an afternoon in Brighton's great pubs after braving Southern trains and a visit to a lovely ground. Once Brighton started playing especially Lua Lua we weren't in it. The only good thing was we didn't wear our luminous urine coloured shirts. |

I fear it will be the luminous away kit tomorrow, I'll bring my sunglasses. Watching the highlights hurt my eyes, possibly the worst kit ever. |
| Forum Reply | Where will you finish? at 14:07 2 Aug 2016
Lower half definitely. Defence remains suspect in my eyes. 15th or 16th. |
| Forum Reply | Clash Kit revealed at 16:51 21 Jul 2016
Took the words out of my mouth. The black/grey kit isn't too bad, would have been better with black and dark grey thick stripes though. Freiburg had a cool clash kit - if the link works. In my opinion obviously. |

I 99% agree with you. I've been put off watching England after seeing some BNP England fans who were attacking some NF England fans, and I certainly don't want to be associated with that. Plus the continual moronic references to two World Wars, plus some other unpalatable aspects of English nationalism. The 1% is that Marseilles is a tough town and I remember from France 98 the local North African origin French were spoiling for a fight - though of course these English thugs are only too willing to oblige. Still I did hear some good news on the radio, apparently because of the security measures the band that leads the turgid, tuneless renditions of various songs might not be allowed into the stadiums. |

Don't forget the joy of Newcastle's relegation and them being the only "big" team in the North East not in the Premiershi*. Fat, blubbering massively over entitled deluded whingers complaining about having to play Burton Albion. Joy. |

Well I'm assuming that our target will be, should be automatic promotion; as goes for all the relegated teams. The club are unlikely to start the season with an announcement that our target is to finish 5th from bottom! |
