Free kids tickets given out to every primary school in the area, include info on the ticket that an adult accompanying the child will get in for a tenner. Stick Burton in one end of Wilbutts and use the rest of the stand for those taking up the offer.

All kids aged between 7 and 16 are only £5 entry anyway. Under 7's are free. A 'Dads & Lads' joint ticket for £17 would be ideal (or, of course, Mums and Sons or whatever)

Another reason why we should. Getting kids more interested in live football rather than staying at home in front of the tv should be a promotional angle we can use.

The club have to be seen to be TRYING to do something. We had back to back Saturday/Tuesday home games in November where nothing was TRIED. We had 2 home games before the cup where nothing was TRIED. Plymouth on Saturday, nothing has been TRIED (unless you're a woman). Is anything going to be TRIED for the week after the cup versus D&R? Nothing might work, but the club have to TRY or be seen to be TRYING.

I meant the above would cover admission for parent / guardian and child for both games so my £32 ie £16 not far off your £17.00 Now I have made it more complicated than the club!!!!
Burton game... on 17:56 - Feb 3 with 6871 views | 442Dale | With the first of the two half-term games now a week on Saturday, might expect something on either of the two fixtures to come out soon. Anyone heard anything? They wouldn't want Keith Hill's side to have anything less than the best support possible and getting in some new fans, especially younger ones, on the back of our cup exploits is too good an opportunity to miss.

Burton game... on 23:03 - Feb 11 with 6389 views | 442Dale | Sometimes stories from "on this day " in whichever year appear down the side of this messageboard, and a few minutes ago I noticed this one from 2009: http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/rochdale/news/1407/morecambe-game-is-kids- (will copy and paste as that link may change when it's no longer on this day!) "Morecambe game is 'Kids for a quid' Wednesday, 11th Feb 2009 20:46 Next Tuesday's re-arranged home game with Morecambe has been designated as a 'Kids for a quid' match by the club. In a move backed by the Dale Supporters Trust, the club have decided to repeat the success of last year's half-term scheme against Hereford by allowing all under 16's into the game for just £1. To take advantage of the offer, you must pre-purchase a ticket from the club office prior to entering the turnstiles. Tickets are now on sale from the office Monday to Friday (9am to 5pm) and also before the game itself on the day. Due to this scheme being run there is no need to purchase family tickets for this fixture and supporters are also reminded that under 7's are still admitted free of charge as per all matches." -------------------------------------------- The result? Well after a simple promotion like that, which was probably advertised in places like the Ob, the OS, on here etc, it resulted in a crowd of 3347 turning up.... of which over 3000 were home fans. Now as such schemes are presumably analysed at football clubs to evaluate success, maybe this or something similar is what we could/are planning to run again next Tuesday night for a game that falls at the exact same time of year? If there has been something done in schools, maybe we'll see a story about it on the OS. This game was rearranged a month ago. Mention was made on another thread of half-term being chosen specifically. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/rochdale/forum/102790/page:2/#32 The efforts to maximise the attendance for the benefit of Keith Hill and his team will indicate to the manager and the players that we're trying as much as possible to increase crowds. The evidence of past attempts indicate that such efforts have paid off: getting over 3000 to turn up for a Tuesday night game in February justified the 'kids for a quid' offer back in 2009 - and it was all planned effectively and efficiently with such a short time between the postponement and the rearranged game.

Is the reasoning behind not having a "kids for a quid" initiative this time round either: a) the club think those kids might have turned up anyway and therefore its lost revenue? b) they'll turn up for the initiative but not bother until the next one? Ticketing schools would allow the club to issue further reduced-price admission vouchers to those producing tickets at the turnstiles, to encourage them back again and with a much greater chance of them being "hooked". It's the longer term rise in gates that counts, not losing a few quid over the next few weeks. [Post edited 12 Feb 2014 13:40]

The idea of allowing adults in for a tenner with a kid who had a ticket would have built on this too. It could have all been managed by using the Willbutts to house them, allowing vouchers/promotional vouchers/Info on supporter surveys* to be given out and the whole game becomes an event. * surveys: we could work with a local college to do that. Just like next week's opponents http://www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/news/article/20140123-survey-1310504.aspx

And the result will be less than 2000 home fans on the night. As frustrating as this is the club do need to sort a dynamic ( Probably young ) IT Savy marketeer who is targeted on Two things - * increased attendance * Young school aged Children attending matches at Spotland The club can survive as it budgets so well but without the younger new blood our chances of continued advances on the pitch become more limited. The worse case senario for not sorting CBA frightens me.
