Just had a look at it today and seems to be too good to be true for £5.99 a month. Whats the catch??

Nothing. Fantastic service. With a bit of know-how you can access the American version which has even larger library - at no extra cost.

The catch is that it can consume huge amounts of your life that you can't get back, other than that it's superb.

Better for TV series than for films, but it's got better on that front over that past year as well from what I can tell.

I did have the lovefilm streaming service previously and Netflix is a thousand times better.

Even the bad times were good.

I've just discovered Netflix US and Hola. There goes my social life.

I've heard bad things about it.

Which series are on it? Can you get new series? We like Criminal Minds and NCIS. What kids shows have they got?
Am I better off ditching Sky and getting this?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Just make sure you ave unlimited bandwidth :)

Yep bandwidth is everything. Very impressed with the picture quality .... not quite bluray but definitely 720p standard.

They've got the entire Breaking Bad back catalogue there, as well as all new episodes. Think I've waited enough ... time to give it a go!

I think most of Netflix's HD offerings are 720, but they are increasing their 1080 catalogue. They also offer 'Super HD.' It's still 1080, and what the difference is is beyond my ken, but whether or not you're able to stream Super HD depends on your ISP. Netflix is great for the price, especially if you check out both UK and US catalogues.

Not sure if can use Hola on a PS3 - I use the chrome add-in but can be run for other browsers. It's all to do with DNS settings ultimately, and there are things such as overplay you can buy a sub for which you can change your PS3 DNS settings and bypass that way.

Whole new world for me. Could actually get the AlJazeera sports to run in the same manner, which would mean all football for £90 a year. Very tempting.

Breaking Bad was what sorted it out for me

£10 for series 1 DVD or free month with Netflix. Started last night series 1 - onto 2 already and can understand the whole losing your life thing.

Very impressed - even with the picture on the iphone app!!

Yeah the Android app picture is superb too. Fired it up on my media pc hooked up to the TV and that was brilliant.

Thinking i might give up my Sky sub. It's criminally overpriced in comparison.

Pardon my technical ignorance here, Ux - but do you mean a Google Chrome add on would be enough to access the US version? I used to have Netflix but was underwhelmed with the range on offer. I'd be in WWE heaven given the amount of dvds they have on the US version...

Yep. https://hola.org/ It's ridiculously easy. Can be used on PC (usually a browser add-in for Firefox or Chrome) or Android (an app).

WWE disks on there? Like I didn't have enough to watch anyway!!!

Gentleman and scholar. I've seen a few references on Twitter to the amount of wrestling discs on the US site. It all went downhill when Vinnie clamped down on Jtv

So, I can get netflix for £6 a month, use Hola to get the U.S version and for £90 I can get the Premier league games too?

Is that right? If so I'm dumping sky and doing it.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Yes, Al Jazeera Sub is £90 for the year and shows all games. Our resident fixtures expert confirmed to me a couple of nights ago that Hola worked for him to use the Al Jaz service.
