I don't dispute that some people may have known but my point is that the entire Asian community in rochdale and heywood is not culpable for the actions of a very small minority of people. |
I think the point that was being made was that if some members of the community knew what was going on, then why did no-one from that community come forward with information? it would be inconceivable to think that no-one knew seeing that over 50 men were involved, some of those involved who have yet to be caught or even identified would have been on the periphery of these hideous deeds, now as you say to blame the whole community is quite clearly ridiculous, it still leaves the question as to why no-one came forward at the time and why the police are still struggling to bring the others to justice...Could it be that lack of information is holding the investigation back? |  |

That doesn't excuse the Police though... One of the first alledged victims reported the crime to the police in 2008 or 9. Despite her giving names/descriptions and venues, the police chose to take no action.
Only when other victims reported the same names/venues etc to police years later, did they investigate.
It could be argued that this original decision by the police has in effect given the green light for dozens (if not hundreds) of other Asian mento behave in the same way.
I hope that action is taken against whoever took this decision within the Police force should those on trial be found guilty. |  | | |

This is how it should work SFD but not always the case. I googled this story and one report CLAIMED at least one of the girls was in local authority care at the time abuse occurrred.
I've always been someone that held social services up as one of the few shining lights in "the system".
