Oh dear. Has had limited experience at this level and it showed. Blatant inconsistency and inexplicable decisions. Luckily made no difference, but imagine him reffing Norwich. Felt a bit sorry for him.

The work Smyth and Saito did defending was phenomenal yesterday. Willingness to sprint back exceptional. Yes Smyth is limited and frustrating, but I think he's contributing well to this run.

Yes, I am not a big fan of PS as I believe he genuinely is not up to this level. However, he really does put a shift in and his pace can cause real problems. He has had a couple of decent games lately.

One think nobody can question is Smyth's work rate and his pace has really helped us plus he is pretty durable despite some heavy challenges .
His crosses are below average and only for Koli risked breaking his neck that ball was never reaching Haaland (I mean Sam )to bury in the net.
I wish sometimes Dunne would whip in a cross from his angle instead or releasing Smyth and being forced wide and deep before crossing its too predictable IMO.
Smyth should cut inside dribble straight into the box and get hacked down (its happened ) or deliver a shot across the keeper it would be much more effective .

This 100%. also not a great fan of PS, but he has done well the last few games. It's just his propensity to fall over too easily looking for a free kick, it's embarrassing at times. Also stop taking the ball all the way down to the goaline before you cross. How about fizzing it into the box (© Andy Sinton) before you run out of pitch.

Well I didn't understand the Madsen thing in the penalty area either but that was the only negative thing I had about him in the notes.

Towards the end of the game - their defender fell over despite minimal (if any) contact and grabbed the ball expecting a foul. No whistle from ref and we got the free kick. But he wasn’t booked for Deliberate Handball !?! Surely, that’s a bookable offence whichever division your experience comes from….?

On top of the other items mentioned I thought it was poor to give the shanked shot as a corner in the first half, it went nowhere near our players and could have resulted in a goal.

I'm not sure how he managed to not book their player who fell over and grabbed the ball either.

Seemed to make judgements about what is and isn't a booking based on whether your team was winning or not rather than the offense.
