Corruption. 10:11 - Nov 30 with 730 viewsmushinexile

There has always been cheating. If there weren't, there would be no need for referees. Historically, there were players who were on the fiddle and with the amount of money now in the "game", it is inconceivable to me that there are not approaches made to officials, probably by gamblers. Suspicious refereeing decisions serve only to reinforce my conviction that summat ain't right, last night's blatant abuse of the VAR process being only the current case in point. The least we should expect from officials is even handedness and yet, it doesn't appear that anybody thinks that is what we are getting. With the system marking its own homework, it is time for questions to be asked of the pundits why these suspicious decisions are not being called out and investigated. A referee's cockup league on MOTD would be a start and perhaps hold the officials to account.

End betting on sport and you will go a long way to stopping corruption. We know that is not going to happen though.

Football is firmly in the hands of the globalists money men and they are not in the least bit concerned about fairness and SFC.

I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it.

There has always been corruption in football mush.

I’m old enough to remember “Bronco” Layne who actually did a stretch for his part in throwing a game back in the sixties.

Not forgetting more recently, considerable doubts concerning keepers by the name of Bruce and another by the name of Hanns. The former having more than the odd game, where shall we say things went well for the opposition. The latter successfully managing to put in an abject performance against relegation threatened Everton on the last day of a season a few years back.

Even our own Le God admitting that it was financially beneficial for some if he was able to kick the ball straight into touch from the kick off.

The question now is has such similar behaviour spilled over into the refereeing fraternity ?

Given that world wide there have been proven cases of refereeing impropriety I find it very hard to imagine that The Premiership is currently immune. Particularly given the vast amount of money swirling around there in.

Surely the way forward would be for there to be put in place an independent investigation authority given access to all aspects of the management of The Premiership clubs and those who officiate their games. Not too much for us long suffering supporters to ask is it, particularly given that horse racing has had something very similar for years ?

Wherever gambling is allowed on sport you'll get corruption.

As long as Southampton Football Club are happy to accept the filthy lucre from betting and gaming organizations such as Sportsbetio and Rollbit as club sponsors, then i'm afraid we are in no position to criticise anybody.

Now that assisted death is now to be legalised , perhaps we should ask Dignitas to be our next sponsor.

Several European clubs were notorious for bribing referees. One of the most notorious, Anderlecht, knocked us out at the quarter-final stage of a European competition after a 'controversial' East German referee, disallowed 2 of our perfectly good goals.

The same season, that East German referee needed 16 policemen to get him safely off the pitch at Ninian Park after a match in which he gave a string of very dodgy decisions in favour of Yugoslavia: "The infamous battle of Ninian Park, which saw East German referee Rudy Glockner pelted with coins and a policeman speared in the neck by a corner flag thrown by one angry Welsh fan which was intended for Herr Glockner."

Anderlecht + Glockner in the late 70s = the dodgiest combination in the history of football.

Dignitas, having seen the speeed of our attack build up would conclude that they were no longer needed.
