Investment update on 11:21 - Apr 22 by James1980 | I know I have shared this before but I think investigating a link up with The Bee Network and Northern Rail to provide free travel during a predetermined time period on matchdays could be worthwhile. Especially with the expected season ticket price increase. https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com/club/stadiums/the-amex-stadium/transport/f Brighton were doing this before they moved to the new stadium. |
And it was a nightmare getting back to your car. It's not so bad when you have an hour or two to get home, but finding the correct stop then waiting nearly an hour for the transport to arrive was unacceptable considering its a 4-5 hour blast up the motorway
Investment update on 00:20 - Apr 23 with 4515 views | Sandyman | The proposed EGM of 23rd March 2020, contained a resolution asking existing shareholders to waive their pre-emption rights for 5 years. Fortunately (!), this was postponed because of the Covid pandemic and we didn't get Rogered. 100% agree with Brierls and D_Alien. There is no need to take up your pre-emptive rights this time round. At least they are not being taken away! Technically, and legally, excellent work by the club and the Odgens. Sent out on the 22nd as promised. A shame not everyone entitled to receive it has. For now. Something to sort out ASAP.

When does Bottomley's ban end? Must be soon? A week ago he was at a networking event at FCUM - would that have been allowed?

Thankfully there is no requirement to do anything about the Email , assuming you don't want to buy a few shares that the the Ogden's are happy to buy anyway? I am not belittling the issue, as a shareholder you should be on the Email list if that is their chosen method of contacting us. Write to the club in the strongest terms and ask that they add you to the list and A) send an email to prove it and B) write / text to you that they have sent it , which might indicate a system problem of some sort if the Email isn't received.....

I’ve already contacted them in the past over this and it’s still unresolved. I’ve mentioned on here before that I actually had to send them proof I was a shareholder to receive my share certificate which simply shouldn’t be happening. I got the club mailshot yesterday about kits though so at least somebody there knows their arse from their elbow.

Probably two different lists, possibly on different PCs. Probably not good data protection....These problems are symptomatic of long term lack of investment and training across the whole club. Noone has ever put money into sales, marketing , customer acquisition or retention and all the other essential tasks that proper companies undertake. Unfortunately you have slipped off a list and no one has noticed, and, you are probably not alone....keep plugging away at them if only for the sake of others who dont even realise what they are not receiving.

This is the exact type of thing that those working on behalf of Sir Peter Ogden need to address. It's the basics of any business really, straight forward simple stuff and there's no excuse for it. The problem has been flagged up multiple times by shareholders over the last couple of years and the club still can't get it right...it's just a list of shareholders and their contact details thats all, but there isn't the structure in place to even get that right. Its a 'not bothered' attitude. Is it any wonder the clubs has regressed so much and lost its league status? The currant Chairman and secretary can cite cash flow problems and hostile takeovers all they want but not keeping a up to date list of shareholders is a typical snap shot of the way the clubs been run. It's very basic stuff. The Ogden family are investing a lot of money into the club and they deserve a lot better than this. I hope they put their own people in place because the club is crying out for some real leadership and proper direction. New people with new ideas who act as ambassadors not only for our club but also the Ogden family. Hopefully they will use the next 12 months to assess every member of staff at the club and then act accordingly if required.

'We would like to add that we have been universally impressed by the people we have met during our dealings with the Club to date. From Board level right the way through the organization, including the Dale Trust, we have found nothing but welcoming, highly professional and thoroughly committed people, all of whom care deeply about the Club and its survival.' I did write to the club before the agm. I'm still waiting for a reply. They've no excuse. I was a season ticket holder therefore they should still have my address, they used to send correspondence to it. The should have my email address as they also used to correspond that way too. It's not just me either, my wife no longer get anything from the club. And they wonder why people are not watching...... The club is rotten from the core. It's at the moment run by people that couldn't care about the fans. I certainly won't be going back if Guage is anything to do with the club in the future. [Post edited 24 Apr 10:07]

There is a big book that names all the shareholders. I've seen it, it's got my name and address in it too as I have checked it. Going digital isn't the excuse.

That will be the Shareholders Register, and probably goes back to the original incorporation. Obviously they have to have some sort of list of current shareholders to send Emails to us. .. QED whilst you are in the book, they didnt put you on the email list... or they have misspelled something in your email and you are not receiving them. A letter is your best chance of fixing things.

As I stated in an earlier post, I've already sent emails asking the questions. I'm still waiting for a reply. I used to get emails and snail mail but for the last 18 months.... nothing. Just about sums up the club really.

The Trust has taken up this issue with an email this evening A positive thing to do. Just wondering if it's addressed to Trust members who're shareholders, or all shareholders?

Its ban ends 14th October 2024. I believe Frances Fielding is involved with FCUM so some parasitic back-scratching seems probable.

It’s good of the trust to take this up but they really shouldn’t have to. Just remembered that I emailed the club my proxy for the recent EGM yet that still wasn’t enough to make it onto their exclusive email list. I’ll drop the club an email later and report back on whether they can be arsed to reply. Not something I’ll be holding my breath on.
