Started with Carney who during the Banking crisis forecast unemployment would reach over 2 million. Then with Brexit the BOE forecast cast unemployment would rise to 3 million. Instead unemployment around 1 million with over a million vacancies. The EU unemployment rate is twice the UK's rate and their inflation rate is also higher. What is as important as the length of the recession is the depth of the recession. The last 6 moths Gdp has either grown slightly or shrunk slightly. The BOE was a year too late in raising interest rates. In truth no one knows how long the war in Ukraine will last, how long the global energy crisis or global shortage of components and materials will last.

I’m in the same boat as you re gas, but if we were generating our electricity from alternative sources there’d be less pressure on the gas supply which could be diverted to domestic customers.

I have a gas boiler for my central heating but am able to heat my water tank by using electricity from solar panels. Now if only someone could devise a system to heat the water in my central heating with electricity generated by solar panels.

My neighbour uses an immesion diverter to heat up his water and then uses the pre-warmed water to feed into his central heating. His son is a plumber and organised the feed of hot water to the boiler.

Even experts can be wrong. Our politicians are supposed to be experts in their fields but how often do they get it right?

Who said that. they move from job to job.The civil servants and adviser are the experts, they run the country too. Cabinet members etc just make the decisions
