...I'm embarrassed by this club.

- the standard of the football is a joke
- our deluded fans are a joke
- the woke bullshit is a joke
- the 'manager' is possibly the biggest joke of the lot.

...I'm sure signing a couple of MK Dons players will keep everybody happy though, and the deluded fan base can pretend for a little while longer. We could get relegated and many would still pretend all was fine.
This club is a joke.

Indeed - potentially / allegedly violating 'an agreement' in the process!

Yet the moany trust should forget that and sign another agreement with people who were potentially / allegedly party to breaking the last one

Let alone the fact that the Americans probably won't want to restrict their options by signing one of these agreements.

So what was this agreement that was violated? Any details?. Perhaps you can put it up on here for us to read? Is there a document? Please discuss the contents and issues if you have any idea.

Six years have passed any progress?

I do not know why they bother. Not selling seems like a pretty good result to me with two small PL teams sold for £200m each double the 2016 Swansea selling price of £100m.

There are big gains to be made if the team can make progress. Networking and understanding is the key to big profits. I recommend the SCST use some of their dead money and take business advice on strategy and determining how they can progress such that inflation does not kill them. (Currently 5%)

They need to reject to old "small town politics" of the past. Those issues were 6 years ago when UK was in the EU and no one had heard of Covid and would not believe what has occurred.

Sorry Max....

The shareholders agreement. The one which you like to ignore. Do you genuinely have a bad memory because this has been presented you numerous times:

https://www.swanstrust.co.uk/2017/04/11/a-statement-by-the-swansea-city-supporte

The Americans recognise it's existence:

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/swansea-city-owners-u

(Although claim the sellers didn't inform them of it) uh oh

Huw also is aware of it's existence:

He even wanted it destroyed? Why was that then Resloven!!??

"On July 2016, the Supporters’ Trust was approached by Chris Farnell, a solicitor acting for Huw Jenkins and other selling parties. Mr Farnell asked the Trust to sign a waiver stating that the original Shareholders’ Agreement was not, and had never been, valid. This document, which Mr Jenkins was clearly aware of as he had signed it, also came with the offer that, if signed, the Supporters’ Trust would be afforded two director positions on the club board — one full directorship and the other with observer status. The Trust rejected this offer and the document remains unsigned on our part. In his interview Mr Jenkins says ‘I think we all have different opinions on the shareholders agreement’. The actions of his solicitor, in presenting the Trust with this waiver suggests Mr Jenkins appeared sufficiently concerned about its impact to seek to invalidate it."

I’d disagree with just about every word of that

Yesterday there were many positives. Accepting we had a one man advantage there were periods where we played some attractive football, creating 18 goal attempts to their 8 I think it was.

Had Piroe accepted that late chance to win it, we would be celebrating a fine win. Those are the fine margins.

Lots of clubs even in lower leagues and non leagues adopt this style. The manager will be well aware of the areas where we need to be stronger.

We must be patient. What all of this shows is the incredible job that SC did for two years.

Talk about deluded, every time we looked like we could win they just attacked and scored with only 10 men instead of defending.

There were many positive encouraging signs yesterday and at 2-1 there looked to be only one winner. But from that moment, defensively we were poor. We went to sleep.

However, there are too many weaknesses both in terms of personnel and playing style. I’ve been a big fan of Ryan Bennett but he struggled. His ( lack of pace ) was concerning him yesterday which meant he was rushing his passing.

To play this football we need the quality. We don’t have it. That’s not the fault of the manager by the way as we are in the main not spending on players.

I think we need to adapt our playing style slightly. To be more direct in deep positions and to use more width. Our club is not what it was. Our manager is working hard to get results whilst implementing a style although he might not have all of the tools for the job ( the right quality of player )

Overall I saw lots to be positive about yesterday. It’ll just take a bit of tweaking. But it’s a results business ad anyone like me who recalls our championship winning season of 2000. 50 goals scored and around 30 conceded in 46 games but I loved it.

Best of luck to RM.

I don’t really agree with that,with respect.
Good luck to the Club

The team is also slow. Slow in pace, slow to move the ball/switch play and slow in thought. They allow teams to reset their shape far too easily. The lack of pace is really exposed on the counter and is made worse by individual defensive errors and giving the ball away in poor positions.

In the main I didn't enjoy the way Cooper set us up. The nagging question was did he want to play that way or did he believe that was the best set up with the players that he had? Is Martin finding this out the hard way.

.

From what I knew, Cooper wanted to play with more one-touch zip, rapid transition and pace. We see this at Forest. Good in the eye too, much like when we took the game to Brentford away and bamboozled Frank.

He was frustrated that we didn't have the critical mass of players to implement his style. And what I admired about him was his down to earth pragmatism to adapt and make the best of it.

If Martin is willing to flex, we should have the collective ability to morph more fluidly into his ideal way of playing. He needs to draw upon our core senior players and build upon Cooper's values and ethos. He should assemble a proper leadership team to plot and deliver this vision.

If he does this we have a decent chance. And it could be worth waiting for.

As you know,I didnt like Cooper mainly as I thought he heart wasn't in it.He is rejuvenated now clearly and has assembled an effective outfit that saw off an arrogant Arsenal with something to spare.
The ball was passed forwards and quicker than it was when he was with us.

I wish he was back ;I hate myself for saying that but I am honest with myself.

I truly feel our owners are killing the club and staff alike. Martin will eventually become ground down and be unable to trot out his positive plan .

It is all about selling the club ;when and to whom.

Meanwhile,Derby are revitalised and creeping upwards .Barnsley scored 5 yesterday.Imagine us scoring Five . Posh aren't very good and will drop.

Make no mistake ,we are already in a relegation battle. Reality.

Talk about a load of tosh.
He had a far better squad than the current Forest team and was only interested in defending.
Almost as boring as Monk and both devalued our squad.

Seems to me most folk have selective memory

In the season we lost to Brentford in the semi's Cooper was much criticised for throwing too many players forward early in the game allowing Brentford to break and socre their first goal nullifing the goal advantage we wnent there with....If I get time Ill find the posts ...

Inthe fianl last year Brentford's second goal came from a breakaway when we had six players in the Brentford box and two sitting just outside..so we certainly were not siotting back.

Cooper did concentrate on defending ...when we didnt have the ball but looked to attack when we had it.

HE certainly also didint look to pass the ball aimlessly across the defence either.

PErsonally this seasons football is the most boring Ive witnessesd in a long while...keepball is not for me.

Then sir you follow the wrong club. Man city Villareal Ajax all have strongly defined playing philosophies. They do not change. Swansea had a strong philosophy and lost it. It is now back.

It relies on the concept that the team is more valuable than the some of the parts. This means average players can exist at a very high level in the league pyramid. Players like Monk, Britton, Taylor, Gower, Allen, Dyer, Routledge Graham. Chico. Swansea kept these players because they were solid and reliable 7/10 every week. Laudrup inherited a teams of players that were no where near his level. They however produced a high quality performances for him

No more compromises. It is Martin ball for the foreseeable future. Winter is on side, Allen is onside, Morgan is onside, Silverstein is on side and the US owners are also on side. The Trust are 'awaiting further details'.

Keeping the ball purely for possesions sake has never been a part of the Swansea MAntra.

The so called "Swansea way" was a collection of many things

HOw we recruited, wage structure, the way we played the game.

Under Martinez we didnt play keepball, yes MArtinez adopted a philosophy whic saw us move the ball out from the back along the deck at pace by using width. HE used Leon to give the CBs and outlet withouthem having to just kick it back up field.

Under MArtinez we also used the cross field long diagonal ball from Ash usually to Dyer up front.
Subsequent managers tweaked this and only Brendan passed the ball alot but it wasnt our standard to just pass the ball around under him..

YOu have hit a key thing mentioning the ploayers you do....we had a unique situation a core of players who had played in that game against Hull to prevent us falling out fo the league and then were still here when we got to the championship and even the PL.

Those players had a "band of brothers" approach ...had to work hard to impress incoming managers and were able to puff out their chests playing in the PL

That all fell apart as wage structure was dismantled, the one for all and all for one spriti started by MArtinez which had a philosphy of all playersd mingling...when training at LLandarcy the first team would be seen sitting down to eat with the youngsters in the conservotory of the old Glamorgan.....another unique thing the club had as players were grounded showering in the same facilties as fans....subsequently this was eroded and encourgaed by HJ through the appointment of MOnk as permenant manager and allowing him to ditch Curt.

In order to keep the riches of the PL HJ knee jerked and made silly decisions about bring back Ayew and BOny in what he beleived were also fianancial coups.

We are where we are now for me Allen is not the right man he has no real football pedigree, and MArtin enough siad....

Ive followed this club for 46 years so dont tell me Im following the wrong club its my club my home town club....

You do not like possession football then you will not like watching Swansea for the next few seasons possibly decades. The club are going down this route with Martin and Allen. If Martin goes it will be like for like replacement.

I did not slag off the Trust but I have not heard anything from them on Swansea s new philosophy. "Awaiting further details" no doubt. Why should they care a jot anyway? The want to leave the club apparently. Sooner the better as far as I am concerned.

It's been explained to you repeatedly why they don't have vast reserves of cash. And now that they're looking into obtaining vast reserves of cash..... guess what...You criticise that too!

There you go again - throwing ill researched cachu up against a wall and hoping it sticks.

Please read this article the trust released following Martin's appointment which focuses on the philosophy:

https://www.swanstrust.co.uk/2021/08/01/welcome-russell-martin/

I trust you'll be apologising for this oversight?
