Good night was that. Plenty of cans drunk and going home stinking of smoke, only for the game to be off anyway. Wasn’t popular with the ex that night if I remember correctly. Then again I rarely was.

Couple of mine are timing related - "they scored too early" and just before the half "now would be a good time to score".

A really good session, my grandson & daughter really enjoyed it,the player were great and a credit to the club spending time give autograhgs and having photo’s taken, making youngsters day, it did my grandson and granddaughter.
Great initiative and bonding the community, the club deserve success now & in the future

My grandson really enjoyed the day, after a look in the shop,now want's the centenary shirt ( normal choice is Real,PSG or Barca) so that's a result. Pity the club couldn't get the media involved (beeb or granada). Also couldn't see Big Jim, wonder if he's injured ?

Which has just reminded me... back in the 60s/70s, it was the Rochdale Observer that used to put the call out for volunteers to help clear the pitch of snow

It'd be delivered about 8am on the Saturday morning and by 10am there'd be about 50 people (of all ages) at the ground, shovelling away

Hell would freeze over before there'd be any chance of that happening now


To be fair newspapers are no longer the most efficient way of communication for time sensitive messages.

But just as well given the developments in that particular newspaper over the years.

What a wonderful initiative!

At last. The club is behaving in a more fan-centric way tipping their hat at the people who make the club what it is.

The self-appointed, autocratic nature of the old regime feels like it's escaping fast when it used to fester like a fart in a bottle. Thank God the fans turned as one, and said to the old regime, "no".

The feeling of freedom as a fan, from those who thought they knew better, is very refreshing!

Whilst this was a great initial effort, what happens next, will the club have some open training sessions for kids ? Will they organise a kids tournament? Did they collect everyone's email addy? will they be sending them a free ticket? We should be told!
