3 things learnt from tonight 19:31 - Mar 20 with 3118 views | vetchonian | 1. Our best starting midfield is Grimes Fulton and Smith 2. Whittaker is not yet ready to start 3. the armchair experts are not always right We looked better when Hourihane went off and Smith can on. Whittaker was pushed off the ball far too much Second half we bossed the game no hoof ball we played football in the style of our identity apparently coached out of us but as pretty as it was to watch got us nothing

3 things learnt from tonight on 19:33 - Mar 20 with 2668 views | DwightYorkeSuperstar | Huh? Whittaker looked more likely to score tonight than any Swansea player has done in months - perhaps all season. I don't recall a Swansea player trying so desperately to score in a very long time. He offered a lot more than Lowe and Ayew have done for quite some time. Both Ayew and especially Lowe are pushed off the ball far too much per game too.

3 things learnt from tonight on 19:36 - Mar 20 with 2629 views | Dr_Parnassus | Agreed. Being able to hold the ball up and make it stick is an absolute must up front. Whittaker is just far too lightweight. Yes he will have a shot or two, which no doubt will muddy peoples views - but he will also lose the ball a dozen times once he has the slightest arm on his shoulder or bump in the back. He needs to put on 2 stone and then he will be a useful player. As it stands looks like he should be used off the bench in the last 20 when defenders are tiring. [Post edited 20 Mar 2021 19:40]

You are clueless . He is going to be a valuable asset. A real bargain with a big profit coming our way.

3 things learnt from tonight on 19:54 - Mar 20 with 2517 views | Catullus | Are people really going to judge Whittaker on one full game? Doesn't he deserve a few games to see how he adjusts to being a starting forward in a physical league? It's not like Loew has done anything much in oooh, 14 games is it. Whittaker looked dangerous, certainly looked more likely to score thn Lowe has. We played better tonight, on that evidence Hourihane should be dropped and skith starts instead and we give Whitts a chance because he deserves it, he ran and ran tonight, he got shots in and was unlucly right at the end. Yes he looks a bit lightweight but his pace and movement were ok and he nearly scored in his first derby game, yes take that into account, this start was against Cardiff and vastly more experienced pros have failed in these games.

3 things learnt from tonight on 20:00 - Mar 20 with 2495 views | AndyCole | Biggest lesson: If we had a Brewster and MGW we would have smashed them, mercilessly. 300% more possession and shots. Football vs Hoofball. Only one team attempted to play the game as it should be. Fine margins, deep pockets. I know who I'd rather watch, week in week out.

I thought we weren't allowed the ifs or "should OF" arguments. Brewster and MGW were outside our control and we couldn't have afforded them if we'd had the option to buy. Isn't it a pretty shocking stat, 23 shots but only one on target? I'd expect better down Ashleigh road. Actully I think several were on target but were blocked so they weren't counted as on target. Cardiff did defend very well, like we used to.

Smith did well today. Him and Fulton - who was quality once again are our best midfielders.I was gutted when Fulton went off, but Cooper won't take Grimes off.
3 things learnt from tonight on 22:53 - Mar 20 with 2232 views | theloneranger | Remember Brewster made his debut last season in this match which ended 0-0, and many fans wrote that he didn't do much, then the rest is history. Whittaker did more in this his first match start, than Brewster did, so let's see what happens if he's given a run in the team.

Fair play, well said Dwight. I don’t agree on Ayew, who holds the ball up well, but people are talking as if Lowe would have had Flint and Morrison bouncing off him. Whittaker gave them problems and I’d be happy for him to start the next match. His composure let him down a bit, but I thought that was a good full debut.

The parachute money has been frittered away and next season we face a massive reduction on income so pardon me if I don't kiss the sky. MM was always going to shaft us. Cardiff and MM knew what we do and we did it

If Harry was on loan to us,Steve would find a way of screwing him up. Im not sure MGW would not have gone west too,as Hoolie seems to have done.

1. Only if we drop Bennett. Naughton and Guehi to start either way 2. 100% 3. No. One absolute howler of pass to Moore. Other than that he was fine 4. He was yesterday. He’s not great by any stretch, but we don’t have anyone else to run at defenders from midfield. Do think we need an upgraded version 5. I don’t think he’ll become first choice straight away, but we’ll see a lot more of him this season
