Ours Documentary 20:45 - Mar 8 with 2452 views | DMR90 | Just watched the Ours documentary on BT Sport - it's a great watch that explores the roles of fans and models of football ownership. It includes phoenix clubs such as AFC Bury and AFC Rushden & Diamonds and initiatives such as those at Lewes FC that pay their male and female footballers equally. It's made me reflect on the Dale, my favourite memories as a fan and what I miss most about matchdays. I think we have a great stadium, programme and music that both home and away fans always enjoy. iFollow has allowed those of us who wouldn't normally attend every away game to never miss a match and the RochdaleAFC.com podcast is fantastic! What do people think the club could do to improve the matchday experience for those of us who already attend and those that we could attract from the 200,000+ population of Rochdale? Lower prices? Food and drink options from local businesses such as breweries? Improved social media content?

Indeed. This was something mentioned recently and it should have been sorted years ago. The matchday experience has been moulded into something some think it should be rather than one it could be. Basics like the catering say it all.

Ours Documentary on 21:46 - Mar 8 with 2284 views | DaleiLama | Unwatchable football, unlistenable post-match interviews, unsaleable assets underperforming on the pitch, inedible concessions and unbearably loud music. It's difficult to think of anything that couldn't be improved on other than the pitch and the friendliness of most folk in the stadium on a matchday. Edit: I agree on the program - top quality too [Post edited 8 Mar 2021 21:53]

I like the music, but it's far too loud. The cartering is crap, as is the football. The program is excellent, though would still like an electronic version 😀

How much do Brighton fans pay for a match day ticket?

Afraid to say I don't know. But just checked and it definitely was available when they were playing at Withdean.

Same as at Notts, there was a free service to take fans from the city centre to Meadow Lane but there was no return journey

Brighton include return travel as well. There are time restrictions which are based on when the match is being played.

I am fairly sure James that Brighton committed to these initiatives to get permission for the Amex. If you going to get 20,000 people moving in a short window with no parking you need to incentivise bus use. Brighton and Hove has a great bus operator. In the 60's we used to run football specials from town using the Rochdale Corp buses. Looking at the small Rosso buses we have now dropping off outside Spotland there are barely 6 people using each service. Not sure a free bus would incentivise new fans, but it might encourage more fans to leave their car at home. I'd love us to offer a free shuttle service to town or the station, but can we afford it? I doubt it

Not anymore. I got a new one for Christmas that I can see more clearly, despite fading eyesight.

That's because there wasn't any parking allowed near to the stadium for spectators, hence they needed park and ride. In fact, I believe it was part of the deal for them to play there. A group of us used it when we went there for our 2-2 draw in August 2010.

Ours Documentary on 08:28 - Mar 9 with 2013 views | deeplishblue | There was an experiment regarding match buses tried about 10 years ago. Can't remember whether it was free or not. Lasted for a few home games but was discontinued as it was not a success.

Jones equalised in injury time after their keeper punched the ball out. Have you got the highlights of that match? Re the travel was thinking something like the Tfgm wayfarer but with stricter time restrictions and not as wide an area. I expect you are right about affordability. Perhaps any subsidy could be sponsored.
