After much consideration, I think my best comebacks would have to be: (i) York away 3-3,1989 or 90; (ii) Stalingrad, 1941-2; (iii) Paul Weller, early 90s (caveat, he’s gone shit again); (iv) When Churchill told that woman to fook off because he’d had a drink or sommat, or it might have been Oscar Wilde I dunno, in them days; and (v) Paul Calf telling some bloke in a pub in Middleton that he had shit shoes on the shitty shoed b@stard, circa 1993.

Re: the last one.
Pretty sure a similar story appeared in an awayday review of a Northampton game once.

Oh I don’t know. It’s from ‘Three Fights, Two Weddings and a Funeral’ from Paul Calf’s video diaries where the drunk Paul Calf gets his Chuck Norris lines all mixed up whilst having a go at his ex girlfriend’s new fella in a pub in Middleton.
Chumbawumba get knocked down but then get up again a lot.
Speaking to The Guardian, Boff Whalley (Chumbawamba’s lead guitarist), confirmed the above. According to him, the song was inspired by an Irish neighbor of theirs. This neigbor would often return home completely drunk and would fall over while trying to get into his house. However, he apparently would get up again and not give up on his quest to get into the house. And that’s likely where the band got the inspiration for the line: “I get knocked down but I get up again…“.

Getting the thread back on track, don't forget the Holt/Lambert inspired comeback v Shrewsbury in November 2005;
Or the Simpson/Oliver inspired comeback v Cambridge in September 2002 when we were 1-3 down after 52 minutes and 2-3 down at 90 minutes, before scoring twice in added time.
There was also a 5-4 hom win v Darlington in September 1957 in which I believe we trailed 1-4 at half-time!
When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Sorry TVOS I just like that story. On the comebacks Jonah's injury time equaliser at Brighton back in 2010 has good memories.
