Good feck them off greedy gets. The league will be better off without them. It will be more even and exciting. And they can take all their plastic fans with them. I would hate to support a franchise team like utd or liverpool | | | | Login to get fewer ads
€6bn European Superleague on 19:55 - Oct 20 with 1876 views | Luther27 | Who are the top 6? Are the teams that regularly beat Man Utd included? or the team that thrashed Liverpool 7-2? Fvcking arrogance as usual.

Yes they moan, too many league and cup games they say, then they jet off on pre season and post season tours. That's why they want the EPL cut, so they can fit in extra European games. I wonder, if the EPL was reduced in size, would they cut season ticket prices? How would a euro league work in conjunction with the EPL? Surely they'd have to split. When this euro league starts up it's probably going to be a closed shop so the "big" clubs can hog all the big money. I reckon the American owners would like it along MLS lines with the top 4/6 teams having end of season play offs, just to milk a bit more money. Maybe I'm just too cynical.

Facks me of that. They horde all the talent then complain their ‘stars’ are overplayed and that winning all the trophies is tough! WTF?! It’s supposed to be! Rotate your squad if you’re that concerned. Like many have said on here, phuck em off so they can devalue their product by playing each other every week. It won’t last long. Oh and ‘big6’ is a bit of a stretch. Man City were playing tranmere not so long ago.

I agree with him on this. Indeed I'd go further: The governement should legislate: 1. You cant call your club after a place in the UK unless you play in a UK league. 2. If you play in a non-UK league you are banned from playing in a UK league as well. 3. You cannot play home matches in the UK unless you are in a UK league. They can then all go off to Dubai or wherever they want to go.

That would be interesting. FIFA bans nations whose governments interfere in football so England would be barred from the World Cup.

It's all good then If they want to go just let them but the EFL should rebrand too and cut the Premier league off. Tell all the current EPL who aren't in this Euro thing they can come back and play in the EFL First Division and reform the play offs while they're at it. How will Everton feel about no more league derbies, and all those London teams too?

The plan isn't to leave the Premier League but to replace the Champions' League with a European Superleague. They want their cake and eat it. You can see their thinking as it ties in with the desire to reduce the PL to 18 teams. 4 fewer Pl matches a season and a European Superleague of 18 teams so 17 matches a season (not home and away obviously). Currently teams play 13 games in the Champions' League if they get to the final.

Yes I know that's why I'm all for the other clubs telling them where to go. The damned cheek of it, an attempt to reduce the EPL in size presented as a goodwill act to protect football which was seen through prety quickly. This comes out a short while later. It's the most blatantly greedy and selfish thing the top 5/6 have tried to do. If this Euro league has 12 teams then that's 22 games, if 15 then 28 and at 18 it's 34 games.Where do they fit all those extra games in? In a reduced EPl with no other cup commitments maybe? No, not for me. Kick them out. Tell them they can have their penny Euro league but they can't have the PL bun too.

Agreed, I believe these teams are attempting to ring fence their positions in the Euro league, the additional revenue will give them a significant advantage in their domestic leagues and ultimately lead to a much less competing league, similar to what we see in Spain. While we are talking about Spanish football, good news as I see Real Madrid lost at home against Donetsk.
