The pubs may well not have been in the Swansea vicinity, if you travelled from further afield, and had a sneaky one en route, or may have been regular matchday jaunts. I'll start with an obvious one, and await the more obscure: (1). The Builders

How many different pubs did we on 23:57 - Apr 10 by Swanjaxs | What was the landlord of the Builders name back in the last throws of the Vetch days? About 5 foot with a syrup on his bonce, always wore a crimson jacket that was 5 sizes too big for him... Banned a load of us from the Gari |
Wasn't he a Rangers lad ? I remember a night game v Cardiff, load of coppers came in but not local, one called us Swansea scum, Lynn Phillips ? Liaison footy copper heard him and pinned him up against the wall just outside the door, que stand off between two sets of police, glasses everywhere, spilled in to the street. Fck me if only we had video phones back then.

I think he was loyal. The Rangers lad who had the Builders about 15 years ago was a skinny guy, often unshaven, think his name was Steve. He was proper Glaswegian mind and bled Red white and blue. He banned me for cheering Alan Thompson's goal against Stuttgart on the way to Celtic's run to the 2002 Europa league run. I was with my ex at the time and the pub was empty lol Anyways.. A few years later he popped up on the Commercial (Brynhyfryd) jollyboys outing bus to Blackpool away weekend with me... He came unstuck on the Sunday night for running his mouth off... Another story 😎

Fair play The Queens was always known by away fans but never really come unstuck but one game that does stick out was Middlesbrough F.A cup early 90's when they were literally throwing the SWP out of the way to get into The Queens.

How many different pubs did we on 20:25 - Apr 11 by Garyjack | The Potters Wheel was Welsh water offices. And before that car showrooms, but prob going back to the 70's for that. |
You're dead right Garyjack. I remember the car showrooms and there was also a huge ramp at the back that used to go up into the building to take cars to the car showrooms on upper floors. The Prince of Wales was back towards the Top Rank and later became Shades and then Flares I believe but that was long after I frequented the place. The Prince's landlord was Ron Lingwood back in the late 60s early 70s and his son Alan (RIP) later managed the Cricketers and the George in Walter Road. Alan's son now has the Westbourne in Brynymor Road.

That's exactly how I remember Boro fans that day they used to be all or nothing on previous visits to the vetch but fair play to them to travel all that way by train and not be fazed by Swans fans or the OB, a very tight bunch of fans mainly in their mid/late 20's who didn't give a feck who or what was in front of them.
