Connor Roberts abuse of Asoro. 12:07 - Jul 24 with 13888 views | Swanseaman | . I heard CR going mad and him giving asoro abuse for a stray pass, think f*ck off was included in it. then there was another time he went mad again at 4min 45 secs on the highlights. it seems way over the top for me, all the players have made errors here and there during the friendly games. What good is it going to do shouting abuse at asoro. It came across like CR believes asoro is the youngster, so he can give him grief. what is CR like with him on the training ground or the dressing room. asoro has loads of raw talent, often jealousy can cause the way CR is treating him. It won't help asoros confidence. I'd enjoy watching asoro play, I don't want to think that connor roberts is out to ruin his selection chances. I hope cooper has a word about it. highlights at 4:45: https://www.swanseacity.com/news/highlights-bristol-rovers-0-swansea-city-3 . [Post edited 24 Jul 2019 12:13]

Connor Roberts abuse of Asoro. on 13:53 - Jul 24 by jasper_T | Wasn't just stray it was a hospital pass. Connor had to chase back and put himself into a 50-50. van der Hoorn dishes out similar abuse every game. Joe and Connor both get earfuls. |
That's how I saw it too. It was a pass to no-one in particular. I still don't know what to think of Asoro. In one match (Yeovil maybe?) when he came on he showed tons of pace. Yesterday, he did his usual facing up the fullback and going nowhere. Then showing too much of the ball and losing it. He doesn't seem to have a trick in his locker, so he's only going to beat his fullback with pace, but he doesn't seem to have the blistering pace off a standing start - so there's very little point him slowing down and facing up the fullback. If I was CR I'd have been bollocking him too, and it doesn't matter that it was a friendly. They're supposed to be getting match ready - it's only a couple of weeks away. BTW, if I was Celina, I'd have been bollocking Dyer too.
Connor Roberts abuse of Asoro. on 15:03 - Jul 24 with 1892 views | jack247 | There’s being a big time Charlie and there’s giving players a rocket when they deserve it. If a winger is trotting back, leaving his fullback in a 1 v 2 situation, he fully deserves a bollocking.

Connor Roberts abuse of Asoro. on 13:50 - Jul 24 by GeoffThom | Some of the comments on here are laughable anyone who's played team sports knows that if you don't keep up to speed you get pelters Asoro fecked up a couple of times and deservedly for a flea in his ear ,get over it and try and do better |
It wasn't 'pelters' or a 'flea in his ear' it was abuse. Asoro had only been on the pitch a few minutes so if Roberts can't control himself he needs to go. I've played alongside people who rant and abuse other players - it really doesn't help the team. James did the same, Dyer does the same, Routledge and McKay do the same. If Robert's accepts the same vitriol from other players when he's out of position, not tracking back or making a s@@t pass he'll be a crumbling wreck by the end of a game. A few comments about Asoro being lazy - I'm starting to wonder if is that lazy like the Ayews, Scotland, Narsingh, Fer, Bafe and Bony?

Connor Roberts abuse of Asoro. on 16:06 - Jul 24 with 1804 views | Neath_Jack | There’s a big difference between two senior players having a go at each other, and a senior player having a go at what is effectively an apprentice. You don’t see that in normal occupations and you shouldn’t see it on a football field either. F*cking hate blokes like that. They are the bigger pricks. You don’t teach someone by bollocking them, you explain the mistakes to them.

. good point, i hadn't thought of it that way. i still don't think he had to go as mad as he did, and telling asoro to 'f off - but maybe they are best of mates off the pitch. i know alex ferguson could go mental with a player, then the next minute he'd have his arm around him saying how great he is, then he'd be praising the player in interviews. I don't know the relationship between CR and alonso, it seemed really strange for a friendly game though. . [Post edited 24 Jul 2019 16:31]

They did....but there was an air in their voices that it was well deserved. It was a pass without thought.....and if we are going to be a force this year..then Roberts has every right to call him out as a fellow pro on the pitch. Hopefully it was his wake up call...the Championship is a grizzly place. He will be found out if hd thinks it's a Sunday School outing...

. the main thing for me is the pass wasn't any worse than other stray passes that had been made, possibly even by CR (if i had the full match sure i could find some errors by him). are the players to go mental for every mistake/error made? it just felt that he was being singled out, he wasn't on very long before the abuse started. if anyone can show me that his back pass mistake was so much worse than the other players missed passes, maybe i could understand it. .

It was an appalling pass, out of reach of both Connor and George Byers who were waiting in space, and put in a position where their forward could and did challenge for it. It was the type of pass that puts teammates at risk of getting hurt, not because it was at all difficult to play - it was a simple ball backwards to recycle possession - but as a result of either showboating or being too lazy to look up.

. I'd have to see a replay of it to really decide, but without the full match available, all I can remember is it didn't seem that bad at the time, maybe you're right and my memory of it isn't so good. .

I don't think you can compare what goes on on a football pitch with what goes on in an office job ... if that's what you're getting at. If Asoro can't handle a bollocking for two poor pieces of play, then I'd suggest he's in the wrong profession.
