From your past, not like Shakespearen times.

I’ll start with clobber for clothes. ‘ got some new clobber?’

And what about ‘its a bit nesh ‘ ❄️❄️

Anymore?

Some crackers on here, a couple I'd never heard before.

'memowed' is a new one for me.

It's not one word, more of a saying - put the kibosh on something.

Learning to read clusters is not something your eyes do naturally. It takes constant practice.

I used that in my what you up to thread yesterday

Bobby Dazzler is great 👍 I do say it to my kids sometimes and I get a couple of funny stares back.

A guy at work the other day said he was ‘going to get some nose bag ‘

Means lunch apparently!

Good one Fred.

What about memowed (if that’s how you spell it). Is it just a Blackpool word 🤔

Isn’t memowed for when you’re trying to mouth a message to someone without letting on to everybody else?

Please and thank you!

Maybe just northern words but ‘nesh’ or ‘parky’ when it’s cold out there

Too true Okeh

How often do you hear someone referred to as a Spinster now?

I never have supper. Didn’t they suffer from heartburn pre 1970s

Supp up we’re off 😃

I used to have toast or cereal for supper growing up, always.

Nobody has supper now

Dalliance, not many of those going on now either.

Disparate.

Often misused in Australia, as in "I was disparate for the toilet".

Icon? It's all Rio Ferdinand's fault.

You may regularly hear this word as a form of swearing , but you never hear it in it's true sense . Bastard . As in the unmarried couple who live next door have had a bastard son . Perhaps for the better !

Tentatively adopting the guise of `Sid the Sexist`, I`ll offer `crackin` bird` and `right goer`, as in:

`I met this crackin` bird last night and she was a right goer`.

Or as Sid would say:

`Ah met this crackin bord las` neet an` she wor a reet goer`.

Is this sort of language used nowadays outside of Newcastle?

Do young gentleman today have an equivalent expression?

Do they actually go out and meet girls on a Saturday night?

Or is it all done by proxy online?
