On one side we have a spineless and rudderless government full of self-serving narcissistic cnts utterly divided.

On the other side we have spineless and rudderless opposition full of self-serving narcissistic cnts utterly divided.

Can someone please show us a third way beyond flipping Vince. Failing a Chuka et al third way then Disco, you're the man no to save us from jezwecan, Diane, Sneery Emily and McDonnell no?

Well I can only speak as I have seen and the person doing the count didn't appreciate having 4 watchers from one party constantly stopping her to question the validity of every vote that didn't quite match their exacting standards. In the end she had to call for a supervisor to come to her aid. The supervisor had a novel means of dealing with the situation. She asked watchers from two of the other parties (I was one of them) to monitor the situation at this particular desk. The poor woman ended up with twice as many people watching her every move.

Three points:
- Boris has *actually* been sacked for lying. In reality. In the real world, not a dream Corbyn once had

- Summit News: Interesting. There's a theme evident on that site when you peruse a few of their stories. Also, try finding out who they are and where they are based. Good luck, there is not a scrap of info about that. I am not saying they are alt right, I am just saying a news source which doesn't say who it is is very suspect.

- Stop the name calling, please. Keep it civil, will you not think of the moderator? Most UK citizens have strong views on Brexit but whatever they think and whatever happens, they are going to need to just get on their lives. Let's see if we on this forum can show them how people can coexist successfully regardless of their stance on this most toxic of issues.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

I’m not a legal expert, and of course the prosecution was politically motivated by a ultra remainer, but the CPS thought there was enough of a case to answer to warrant a trial? That quite serious isn’t it?

No one has done the same with the Peterborough by election have they? Because Paul Watson should if he is so sure.

Like you I am no legal expert but it appears for whatever reason two judges thought otherwise. Hardly NARROWLY escaping a prison sentence.

If it was a private prosecution, why would the CPS get involved?

I think this is what is being referred to but I don't know if the CPS got involved or not

https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/private-prosecutions

"the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has power under section 6(2) POA 1985 to take over private prosecutions;"

Again the implication might be that the CPS were involved by default as they did not stop it

"However, there will be instances where it is appropriate for the CPS to exercise the Director's powers under section 6(2) POA 1985, either to continue the prosecution or to discontinue or stop it."

It wouldn't have hurt you to be civil and answer the question. No wonder Clive gets exasperated.

I have read all 78 pages and apart from the example I gave (no EU contribution) and the necessity of honouring the result of an advisory referendum, I haven't seen another tangible benefit, in this thread or any of the other articles I have read since the start of 2016.

And there was me thinking their main priority was ensuring cases never got to court.

(I have a very low opinion of the CPS).

The Labour Party and Momentum are very different things.

Momentum were founded independently to support Jeremy Corbyn and other socialist candidates like Lisa. They take no instruction or funding from the Labour Party.

Also, there were no additional expenses as far as I know. I’m a Momentum member for example and paid all my expenses myself.

The electoral system in this country is open to abuse, but it’s open to abuse for everyone.

The Tories were fined two years ago for overspending, and Boris Johnson narrowly escaped prison last week for public office offences.

Come on Baz , he didnt "narrowly escape prison" .

The thing was thrown out after the smallest of resistance by his legal team .

I believe that you have run out of argument .

Just trying to push him into listing some benefits so you can cut and paste your 2016 list of discredited and vested interested experts and try to knock them over. You even resort to some helpful reminders

Honouring the 2016 vote is important and trotting out the old "advisory" line is really bottom scraping international standard .

If I copy and past the old "the Government will implement what you decide" line from the Government leaflet maybe you could match it with the advice that the whole thing was advisory from the the same source ? Just for balance of course .........

Fair enough.

What are you thoughts on him being sacked for lying and the arranging of a journalist’s beating?

Not that Labour MPs have never lied or committed an offence, but this is a potential PM we are talking about.

Not a chance of this happening.

I’ll second this, as an election agent and candidate.

No chance.

Well he didnt arrange for a journalists beating , he was asked by a "friend" to supply the journalists address , he said he would. I far as I know he didnt .
Thats no defence though, it was irresponsible and stupid.

As for lying , he was asked if he was having an affair . I would think that most MPs would deny that even if it were true for fear of the whips using the info . It was about his private life but I accept that it gives a clue to his persona

Please provide your evidence that Boris Johnson arranged for a journalist to be beaten.
Factual evidence please, ideally not from the Guardian.
Thanks.

Boris Johnson has been sacked *twice* for lying.

He was sacked for lying about an affair to Michael Howard.

He had already been sacked from The Times for making up a quote.

I accept "the Government .... " was said in the run up to the vote. But, constitutionally, any referenda in the UK is no more than advisory. The comment was ill-advised. That's why we have a representative Parliamentary democracy.

In all the research I've done since 2016 (plentiful), I've seen people claim "opportunities" but never offer any detail.
If we haven't already (Honda, EMA, EBA, many financial institutions shifting assets out of UK), we are rapidly approaching the point where wishful thinking collides with hard reality. From govt assessments, virtually every economist, the BOE, CBI, Chambers of Commerce, BMA, RCN then no-deal represents the hardest reality of the lot.

I'm open to alternative views. Feel free to re-assure me.

Frankly, I think no-deal looks more and more likely. Still I'm sure I can cope with the near 3% fall in my income over the last month.

I didnt Yawn ,you should have been around in 2016 . I can argue this stuff for months .

Vote Leave is /were a lobby group . They were not the Government or the Civil Service . I assume they expected that those charged with the negotiations would do it diligently instead of "phoning it in " as Clive would say about Joel Lynch ...............

It's ironic that a lot of people backed Leave on the misguided basis of keeping people of Turkish descent out , only to elect one as Prime Minister.

The Vote Leave campaign, which was fronted by Boris Johnson and Michael Gove, won the contest to be the official Leave campaign in the 2016 referendum on whether Britain should stay in the European Union.

They were the 'official' voice of the leave campaign. why should they be held less to account than anyone else. Do you really believe voters made that distinction? Boris fronted it - surely now as potentially the new PM he should stick to it's clearly set out mandate. no?

Don't fall into his attention trap, time he left home, he has been holding on to the apron strings of the EU for over 40 years, he can't face the outside world.

Still got stabilizers on his Boris bike apparently.
