What about another thought regarding team selection . What if Potter is working to a wages budget whereby he is given a pool of money per week to spend.......I would expect our players have a basic salary with add one for bench appearances,starting, number of minutes played etc.....maybe Potter is working with one hand behind his back?
But even if he isn't he will sometimes get it wrong......most of our managers have at times even those with a betterment and dealt to them tha this one has........Big mistake made with his selection today.....I expect he will have learnt that.....unless of course my conspiracy theory has some legs! | |

Has anyone seen any post match comments and explanations yet?
I’m truly flabbergasted by that first half - was it the system itself or players not sticking to it? Surely Potter has sufficent coaching ability to get his message across via a few days on the training pitch. Surely he does. I still can’t work out the formation:
- Harries playing left back or left sided CB of three?
- If it was 3 / 5 at the back then it was really out of shape as Dan James was generally high up the pitch whereas Routledge was not.
- Grimes was positioned deeper than VdH time after time.
It simply looked farcical and nobody seemed to know their role. There’s no way in the world he designed it like that. |  |

Potter has started a project and irrespective of what happens this season needs to be given the summer and probably most of next season.
However by god he got it wrong today and not for the first time. In dropping Mulder for Nordfelt a few months ago and today’s selection I can honestly say that he has made some of the strangest managerial decisions I’ve ever witnessed from a Swans manager since I’ve been watching them. |  | | |
