My old man stopped me running on the pitch at the time , I was 13 I think we did have a good laugh when the "tramp" who used to stand at the front of the loft tried to clamber over the wall to get on the pitch , what a sight that was terrible game against city who had the kit that looked like a draughts board, the other thing I do recall of that day was donkey fillery scoring and a bloke being escorted out by the old bill kissing the badge on his scarf and the whole of the loft applauding
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

I was on it, worst part of the day was the stadium announcer saying that those on the pitch weren't real fans. Arrived at work Monday and my work mates had made me an FPR rosette.
favourite cheese mature Cheddar. FFS there is no such thing as the EPL

I was there that day. Hated that f*****G tw*t on the PA. I got loads of stick from mates about FPR. Remember a steward trying to stop us getting to the centre of the pitch. Took one look at us then rugby tackled the smallest twelve year kid I've ever seen. So we pulled him off the kid and took him with us.

I remember it well. You could cut the atmosphere with a knife. I was sitting in the South Africa Road stand that day, so fair play to all on the pitch. The Man City fans were singing 'FPR FPR FPR' at us. One thing that really stands out for me though, there was this geezer taken from the pitch by the old bill, he was a bit scruffy, moustache and a big blue & white bar scarf. We left before the end as we wanted to get back to the pub. Anyway, this geezer is being interviewed outside by reporters from the Sunday papers. He said he's been a fan all his life, but hadn't been for a few years and had to come down to protest. The reporters were lapping it up. I interrupted them and said something like, what the fcuk are you interviewing him for when he hasn't been for years. Interview fans who go today and now. One of them said they'd talk to me after. I said sod that, I'm off to the pub. This geezers photo was in all the papers the following day too.

Those were the days when we'd be disappointed if we didn't beat Man City in a top division fixture.
Just looked it up and for what was a Division 1 fixture, on a day of protest about losing the identity of our club, about 600 more people turned up than a few weeks ago for a bottom of the table clash against the mighty Burton Albion.
For all the slagging off of SKY, and I'm with most on this, it does make you pause for thought.

We have always had a core support of only 13-14 k even going back to then the only time the place was packed out was against West ham, Arsenal, Spurs, Utd & Chelsea as they would buy tickets in the SA & ER , as much as clubs like sheff wed, liverpool , Birmingham , man city like to brag about being sleeping giants the away support they used to take was shocking, Liverpool had most of the top tier of the school end missing for a semi final league cup game football in the eighties wasn't that big a deal unless you were a hardcore fan everyone now attaches themselves to a club these days , that wasn't the case then

My left ear is in there . Left of the picture about half way up. I recognise the people around me.
Never seen that picture before. Nice one. Lots of proper dodgy barnets

Your name isn't Gus by any chance is it? I remember talking to the guy in the photo, who had a mate called Paul who used to do the bins in Hounslow. I was a gangly 15 year old around this time with a dodge metallers mullet.
Didn't get on the pitch that day and regretted it ever since.

that was Dee, a different demo against leeds. I javelined the corner post.I was very angry about whatever it was i was angry about.
Down with that sort of thing!
The buxom lady incident ended with a sun reporter being chased out of the white horse!
Ha - great to recognise some very familiar faces from home and away back then ……. just can't believe it how quickly the years have passed. The Leeds match thing we were angry about (and Denise protested in a way the rest of us couldn't ;-) ) was Thompson selling Peacock and others just at the point as we were edging the top 4 going into the Easter games. Missed opportunity that one ……. Great memories

One good thing that came out of this episode was the birth of A Kick Up The R's which is also in its 30th year. It is about time the club recognises the dedication that Dave Thomas has made in keeping this going over the years probably to his absolute detriment. Yet he carries on and for me the publication is very much part of the fabric of QPR and one of the very few fanzines born in that era that has survived to this day.
