Isn't it incredible how utterly shite Mr Bradley on 07:23 - Feb 1 by BarrySwan | I must confess to having only seen the highlights of the game but presumably this would be the same statuesque FF who along with his central partner allowed Shane Long to stroll between them to leisurely pop the ball into the back of the net in his own time last night? I do concede that he may have improved on his previous liability strewn form with us over the last season or two if the rest of his game reflected a hugely owed improvement. |
Yes you only did see the highlights last night's match. It was Southampton's best move of the match wonderful cross and a good goal.

Which could still have been cut out had FF not decided to just watch it skim past him.

Ball in the six yard box is the keepers all day 'long'. Someone should have been tighter to the forward there though. Know what...? ...Don't care.

Highlights ( and often watching live on TV) do not give you a true perspective of the game and how individual players play. You don't see when they do the simple things well and work done off the ball. Highlights show goals, near misses and mistakes, seldom a true reflection of the game. How often have you seen a match live and later watched MOTD thinking that is not the same game that I watched live.

It was a brilliant lightning counter attack, an excellent ball whipped in to the box and Long ghosted in to slam it home. If Llorentes had scored that from an Ollson or Carroll cross, we'd have been crowing about it for weeks. The defence did make mistakes last night, but overall the team is playing as a unit and fighting for everything, With BB in charge we'd have lost that by half time

That's true, but generally he was solid. Very good at defending the high balls and pressing - he looked dominant last night, which is a first in a long time. In fact all over the park we were good in the air last night, and at set pieces. PC must have put something in their tea. Turn him round though and get him running towards our goal and oh my 🙈. That other run in the second half where he backed off so much I thought he was going to end up in the NE with us!

Isn't it incredible how utterly shite Mr Bradley on 07:07 - Feb 1 by Gowerjack | Bradley was the worst manager I have ever seen us have both in terms of results and performance. A truely awful appointment made only on the basis of his nationality. A clueless f uckwit who would be world class if his talent matched his misplaced belief in his own ability. Those responsible should hang their heads in shame. |

Funny you should say that - the trust asked for his removal before the Sunderland game, but obviously that game papered over the cracks and probably gave him the next the 4 games to build on it, before they realised he was freaking sh!t.

Indeed. If it comes to GD we are down, we are at a one point disadvantage thanks to Bob, If our GD gets anywhere near our rivals it means we've got more than enough points. With palace winning, hanging on for the win yesterday was priceless.

It was probably the closest performance to the "best" of Fernández we've seen for a while. Good at tackling, marking and heading, prone to a cock up and essentially useless with the ball at his feet. I'm not in the camp that believes we were desperate for a CB as better coaching should improve what we've got to a good enough level for now, but I wouldn't be averse to another look at the situation in the summer.

I'm well aware of the difference of selected highlights to that of watching the whole game. However I am also aware of an Argentinian centre half who has been a near disaster over the last year or two who last night during the game basically stopped running and stood and watched a ball glide past him to the unmarked guy behind him. Which is exactly what I expect of him having watched him since he arrived. He might well have been the best player in the team for the rest of the game but yet again proved to be a liability at the back. The whole point of beimng good enough to play as a centre half, in the premier league is not to be outstanding for 85 minutes but still let in one or two a game but to actually not let in soft goal such as the one last night.

Last nights goal for Southampton was brilliantly executed and if we had scored it, we would have been in raptures for weeks. Personally I would not blame our defence, it was just well taken.

It was a great passing movement aided by the wide open space on their left flank, but finished by a guy who appeared to be out for a gentle Sunday afternoon stroll who walked into a open vast wilderness left by two centre halfs, one of whom appeared to virtually usher the ball past himself as he decided to stop moving and have a little gasper. Which unfortunately and predictably enough turned onto a much longer break as the Southampton players ran about celebrating before another kick off.

If Fabianski was positioned correctly then he would have been able to smother the ball quite easily. He foolishly anticipated a high cross into the box. He was wrong and it cost us a goal.
