Us fans and signings 15:22 - Jan 11 with 2694 views | shandyjack | who are people expecting us too sign? Every player we have been linked with has been roundly criticised on here by the majority. I'm not to sure what people wanted Carroll - Good option who can help the transition and has potential to replace Leon long term Olsen - Good Left Back, PL experience and 40 caps for Sweden Sakho - Better than anything we currently have Narsingh - Plenty of CL experience and has played against PC a few times and he's seen he must have quality I', not sure why there is so much disregard to these signings if they all come off. 3 of the 4 would get straight into our starting XI

Us fans and signings on 16:24 - Jan 11 with 1181 views | TheKirkyLife | The big thing for me is any player coming to us knows the fight ahead of us. I'm all for anyone coming on a permanent deal who improves our first.
Us fans and signings on 16:26 - Jan 11 with 1161 views | JaquesBasteaux | I wouldn't turn my nose up at any of them, but I wouldn't choose them either. Carroll - Might well be a player with more to come, but if we were spending the £8-10m being reported on him, I'd feel it was a waste. He is not the dog we need, he is a luxury player (same as JDZ was for those making comparisons on their size). Olssen - Happy to take him. Not seen him for a little while I admit, but he was a decent enough full back when he was in the PL, albeit not amazing. This is about the best we could hope for as a transfer for this position. Sakho - I believe he would strengthen our back line and would also add pace to it, but it would still leave the question of who would actually lead the back line? I don't see him as a leader so we'd still potentially have a disjointed defence. Also, at £20m I'd rather not have him at all. If a 6 month loan with the option to buy in the summer, possibly worth a punt. Narsingh - Happy to admit that I know nothing of him other than the YouTube videos I've seen today. And we all know that they're not worth betting £4m on! I think we're going to have to keep knocking on doors and begging for players on loan I'm afraid (if we want quality). As stated above by others, our position doesn't make a very attractive proposition at present though. Unless I've missed it - has anyone (not just us, but ANYONE) tried getting Schweinsteiger on loan for the rest of the season? I've seen nothing and yet he is frozen out at United. He may be getting to retirement but there are a couple of miles left in his legs yet. Ambitious? Unrealistic? Maybe. Only asking the question of United/the player will answer that.

Us fans and signings on 15:36 - Jan 11 by taff999555 | Carroll - too small and lightweight. We need a bigger more combative CM. we are weak enough from set pieces as it is without throwing another featherweight in. Olsen - if he was so great why wasn't he poached when Norwich went down? Sakai - would be a good signing imo. Narsingh - don't know a lot about him but from a small amount of research he sounds decent and hopefully can provide us with an end product from the by line. |
Our best midfielders since we've been in the prem are Britton, Allen and De Guzman. People keep saying we need a big hard midfielder, we don't.

we've survived 6 seasons without one, won a cup and done well in Europe, all without a 'Hard' midfielder. What we need is players who are good on the ball and can break up play by being clever like Leon does. If they can add a few goals into the team then happy days Maybe we should sign the hard man Cattermole, that will cheer people up

I'd push the boat out and go for Morgan Sanson can play DM and CM got pace scores and assists and can get stuck in when the going gets tough, 20 odd mill could get us both him and Vilhena who I'd play at DM with Sanson CM can even cover for AM as well, good sell on value as well as both still young enough. Us fans and signings on 17:45 - Jan 11 with 968 views | AussieSwan | Yes, Schweinsteiger would be an amazing signing. Can't see it happening though. He's too loyal and too much of a professional, so I think he'll just stay at United I'd definitely ask about a 6-month loan for Memphis Depay though.

He's out there then but you're in South Wales? I used to live there, in Woensel, Waalre, Strijp, played football in Waalre also, with all mad Eindhoven fans. I'm not 100% on this boy but he has got a bit about him from the clips.

Schweinsteiger is the most ridiculous shout yet. A world cup winner with a cabinet full of medals who's already on the beach and has been for 6 months or more and you expect him to roll his sleeves up in front of 20.800 and muck in. Some of these posts regarding transfers is playing right into Jenkins hands. His excuse was that fans have stupid expectations. Jesus wept.

My point, as I stated in the comment, was that unless you ask the question of the club and player, you don't know. I doubt that he would come here personally, but it costs nothing to make enquiries so Huw et al should do just that. A lot.

We're not asking because we don't want him. He's totally the OPPOSITE type of player we need or should be going for. [Post edited 12 Jan 2017 9:23]

I don't, obviously. Nor did I say that he isn't. I just said that this is what he should be doing, and I hope that he is even though I am not optimistic over the outcomes.
Us fans and signings on 11:00 - Jan 12 with 381 views | AustinIsOurHero | I said this a while ago in a previous thread - Paul Clement could come in with his little black book of contacts, which may include Ronaldo, Bale, James Rodriguez, Sergio Ramos Arjen Robben, Franc Ribery etc... the who's who of world football. Great stuff. But we're Swansea City. A shambles of a football club, one place from the bottom of the Premier League & on our 3rd Manager of the season. Who's he going to persuade to come here? Be happy we're getting Ollson, Narsingh & whoever else is crazy enough to come...
