Trust remains disappointed at the lack of engagement over ownership of club on 15:18 - Jul 20 by londonlisa2001 | Even less active in the transfer market? What, you mean we wouldn't have bought a fourth choice back up goalkeeper for free? In seriousness, I can see the point, which is well taken. However, the issue will always be in such a situation, that the PR war which could be crucial, is played out with only one participant. And I'm not sure you'll be able to fully make up the ground afterwards if necessary to do so. It's like Huw Cooze in the U.S. I can see the reason why he went and understand it. But it's also difficult to not see that as at least tacit endorsement of the new regime. |

I think the trust board are in a damned if they do and damned if they don't position. They need to show that they will try to work with new owners rather than just throw their toys out of the pram but also need to show their opposition if necessary. A dilemma. Maybe the evening post may be more interested in the other side of stories now Gareth Vincent has left as far as the pr war is concerned. Similarly Huw Cooze in the USA is a tough one as in some quarters he is getting a pasting for going. If he is doing this with the blessing of the trust board, the board need to support him and explain why he is out there. Otherwise he is being hung out to dry and will be a scapegoat for trust members frustrations during an election period. In other news I note that hull have postponed takeover talks so that it doesn't disrupt their transfer window.

Trust remains disappointed at the lack of engagement over ownership of club on 15:39 - Jul 20 by londonlisa2001 | I fully understand. I'm sure you are also aware that people like me, or Monmouth, or Nick are completely supportive, but we sometimes can't help but vent our frustration, particularly when we start to read nonsense about how these guys 'get it' or seem 'committed to the club'. |
In a nutshell. I would trust Phil absolutely (though I've not met him and would imagine Phil Mitchell rather than George Clooney as his film double...) and am seriously glad I don't have my cheeks perched on the horns of this particular dilemma, or multiple dilemmas. I think it's blindingly obvious that without the Trust the sellouts would have sold out and without any care or doubt and it would have been done and dusted ages ago with full control conceded. That is fairly clear from all the false leaked pronouncements trying to railroad and bounce the transfer through. I know it's hard for anyone that prefers uncertainty avoidance, but to me, the delay in any triumphalist announcement is actually the most heartening thing.

Trust remains disappointed at the lack of engagement over ownership of club on 18:50 - Jul 20 with 1263 views | MoscowJack | When the Western Mail launched the exclusive of this deal after the Chelsea game, I read the article on their site. There was a vote at the bottom asking if I thought it was a good move or not. The article had been "alive" just a few minutes but when I voted, it showed something like 900 votes....all positive in fact. I even wrote to them to ask them to check this was accurate. There's now another article (just up within last 30 mins) with another vote at the bottom. When I voted "no", the results showed 100% voted YES. I've tried three different phones, tablets and laptop and the results still show 100% YES. Can someone else check too please? It could, quite simply, be that I'm going mad. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/swansea-citys-new-amer

The local press are a disgrace. I have no idea whether these guys are good or bad - I simply don't know enough to judge albeit I am very concerned about their treatment of the Trust and that makes me very nervous. I am similarly disappointed in the tactics seemingly employed by our current ownership. But the lack of investigation done by either the Post or the Western Mail is simply unforgivable. I never look at it really, but having paid a quick visit to look at the poll, there seems to be more investigation around whether or not Cardiff may have to play on a pitch with divots.

Divots is the word alright. It looks like they are happy to be fed articles from the club ready to print.

I respect Chris Wathan quite a lot, but he was either blindsided or totally blown away with the exclusive the club gave to him about the American deal. I TRY to find balance and see things from a different perspective but there's definitely as strong PR campaign going on at the Liberty and has for a while. The likes of CW are probably too scared to write the real truth in fear of missing the Premier League luxuries he's writing about every week. It's hard for the Trust at the moment - if they say anything it can be used against them. If they say nothing, that's used against them by others. I personally think we, the fans, need to be patient with the Trust and trust that they're doing the right thing. I just wish they had sold their shares when they had the chance.

I used to enjoy reading Chris Wathan's articles before the "exclusive" . It's time for him to move up to the next level and go to the national press.
