Yeah I'm not questioning our wage budget, but for a team thats just come up with a stadium only 11,000 capacity they seem to have abit more ambition in the market than us. Yeah we payed off Laudrup and Monk for a reported 3m each, we sold Bony for 27m and we we're named in the top 30 richest teams in the world along with making profit every year, last time we spent big on a player was Bony and he payed off massively. | |

We made an operational loss of £16.7m year ending May 31st. The Bony sale helped offload this. Seriously, at the moment we are skint. | |

It's cause most people here still think of us as a small club despite as you say being one of the top 30 richest clubs. Surely spending out on a striker would be more beneficial in the long run in atleast helping if not making sure we stay in the league for the big bucks next year. | | | |

To get things straight!.......I am not one of those die-hard idiots that excused the 'ludicrously expensive insanity' of awarding contracts to non-contributing/zero end product parasites like Butler, Gower and KOL at a time when they should have been shown the door.......But?............I have to back the board/chairman if it takes financial sanity to stop the club from ending up in debt to the tune of several tens of millions/hundred million + Pounds of debt.
If the club ends up a basket case like Cardiff City, Bolton, QPR etc it will be because of disgraceful incompetence by the board! My guess is one day Bournemouth will end up joining that list! |  |

I'm on about the latter stage of his SCFC career where he hanged around for way too long in what was to become 'The SCFC Home For Semi-Retired Footballers'. How many uninjured players do you know leave a PREMIER LEAGUE club to then only go on to make a further 7 full league appearances and to then immeadiately retire? He did at least beat Butler who left and went on to make a further ZERO full league appearances before he went into full retirement.

It's all well and good saying the board are doing a amazing job (which they are thankfully) keeping us out of debt etc but there comes a time when we'll fall way behind clubs if we never have the money there to buy players, there surely must come a time when we seriously need to consider selling up if we can't compete with the other teams doing the buisness which is why there were rumours about them yanks coming in
,and sometimes going for the freebies can work out costing more than an expensive transfer. | |
