Rangel? on 22:07 - Oct 19 with 1724 views | LeonisGod | Yes. Because he showed more against Spurs than Naughton has all season. Deserved to keep his place and he was most definitely not our problem tonight.

If there was no injury to Naughton then that is a poor decision from Monk. Regardless of Naughton's form, Rangel has beeen off the pace for years now. Good servant and bench player but when he is starting then that must get the opposition excited. Shows weakness.
Rangel? on 22:34 - Oct 19 with 1613 views | Dr_Winston | Rangel was one of our better players tonight I thought. Certainly the best of the starters, although that's not saying much.

Rangel? on 22:52 - Oct 19 with 1506 views | premierjack | I thing naughton was given time off for the birth of his daughter. I never thought I'd say this but... Maybe jazz would have been a better option than Rangel tonight
Rangel? on 23:26 - Oct 19 with 1432 views | PatchesOHoulihan | Rangel was definitely one of the better performers tonight. Always available for a pass but unfortunately not helped out by Barrow much. Without him would have had a lot less going forward and also thought defensively he was solid. Think Rangel and Leon have been discarded slightly too early.

Couldn't disagree more. Rangel still embodies all that we used to be about. He got sod all help from anyone around him and had nowhere to go a lot of the time. As for being past it, he was busting a gut to get into the box on 85 minutes whilst Ayew stood on the touchline watching.
Rangel? on 23:37 - Oct 19 with 1378 views | lovejuicejack | Wasn't it his poor back header that lead to the penalty, if we are relying on Rangel them we are in big trouble.

Angel was up the pitch as we'd just been attacking through him. Jack screwed up I think.

He was running box to box right to the end, which is more than can be said for some of them. It would be interesting to see the distance covered stats - I bet Rangel would be a lot nearer the top than the bottom. He's not a world beater, but he's certainly not the reason we lost tonight.
Rangel? on 23:48 - Oct 19 with 1305 views | ChrisSCFC | Was Routledge injured? He's a million miles more talented than Barrow ever will be.

Jack Cork had a 10 min symphony of ineptitude to start the game. I was glad he had started after Ki was largely anonymous v Spurs but I hadnt seen Cork play a bad game until tonight.....but Taylor was awful, so was Williams. Fernandez was spectacularly bad. Rangel was just his usual. [Post edited 19 Oct 2015 23:49]

No absolutely he is not the reason we lost tonight, that was a team effort and he does run all match for sure but he had lost pace naturally due to age.

I'm a big fan of JC generally but tonight just wasn't his night at all.
