That German bloke called Plop will probably get the job, I think his name is Plop anyway

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Glad he got the tin tack the bloke is a complete cock. Awful signings, wasted a shed load of money and as a team gone backwards. Talks absolute tosh when interviewed and never his fault when they get beat. Nasty bit of work in my opinion.

You forgot to mention his scum connection.

So near but yet so far. Would have won the title had Slippy Stevie not f*cked it up for him.
I wouldn't say his signings were all bad, Sturridge turned out alright.

Be interesting to see what they do next. Redknapp's probably on the blower to his agent right now.

Sterling saw which way the wind wasn't blowing ages ago and deserted the becalmed ship Liverpool.

This is the (ex) Liverpool manager we're talking about. What's not to like here?

Or Roy Rogers and Trigger, just like Rednobb and Jordan, who are odds on for the MAKIMS.

Tears Of A Clown.... correct ... a very nice bottle of splosh - "Medoc" tonight.

Unless Medoc means Casualty is now being filmed in Nottingham.

I'm on fire tonight.

Swan Vestas, the perfect match.

This is proof that there was plenty of shyte in the charts in the sixties. This song was a favourite of WG Stores Records, Shepherd's Bush Market, who were one of the major sponsors of the R's, as it was played at most home games in the mid sixties.

Now try - "come back and shake me, make me" - filmed in front of the Scrubs; when Sir Alec said that the world made sense and long as you had somejumpers.

Yerse, yerse, yerse, a very nice bottle of Medoc tonight,

No real surprise due to their delusions of grandeur.

I particularly enjoyed this comment from one of their own, Jamie Carragher;

"Liverpool are becoming Tottenham. They think they are a big club but the real big clubs aren't concerned about what they do".

If you think about it, that's actually an insult to Tottenham.

delusions indeed.

amazing that they used to be a BIG club, not in terms of support and home gates, but winning all in front of them. but this is a distant memory, bar the odd trophy that benitez found. one significant slip, and things have continued to frustrate and elude them. they are clearly not good enough to be top four, yet their supporters, owners, players and even some of the sports commentators still believe it to be.
the owners clearly need to make the right decision regarding the manager, and allow them to create their own team with what they have got. there is a lot of dead wood at anfield, and how they resolve these players will decide how much money is available to the new manager. i would go for klopp, allow him to get his feet under the desk, the soil on his boots, and possibly bring in new players.
but it is true that liverpool have no real identity as a club. a thing they always used to have and identify with. they still have some world class players, but far too many mediocre ones who they paid far too much for. liverpool of old always had every player a full iternational, top top players. i don't believe they have now, nor do i believe they have the right to have the top players. suarez didn't want to play for them.
and i think that as it stands, tottenham are a much better side, with a more balanced squad of players. they may or may not think they are a big club, jamie, but at the moment they are a better side and the real big clubs are concerned about what they do. just ask pellegrini,

It's not what you've got; it's where you stick it.

Carragher could also have said "I think Liverpool are becoming what QPR are in the Championship. They think they are a big club, but the real big clubs aren't concerned ability what they do"

I would say Liverpool is a big club, just not a very successful one in the Premier League era. The size of the club was demonstrated when the Prime Minister of Thailand Thaksin Shinawatra tried to buy the club in 2004 because Liverpool had so many supporters in Thailand.

I think the confusion has arisen because John Henry has given up on top four finishes, which he considers too expensive to achieve (and in any case are not guaranteed). In terms of league position he is thinking more in terms of Newcastle and Aston Villa (i.e. anything above fifteenth) than of Chelsea or Man City. He has two options:

1) Carry on as before and leave mid-table managers like Rodgers to carry the can for Liverpool's mid-table position
2) Come out of the mid-table closet, mount a frank 'Glad to be eighth campaign', and openly admit that Liverpool are in the museum business.

Failed at Reading.

Why would he be any better at Loftus Rd?

I know almost nothing about the Premier League even though I try to catch the big games every now and then at the end of the season. But I will say this, Queens Park Rangers is just a fukking sick ass team name. Just sounds so cool.

'Fenway Sports Group’s early dispatch of Brendan Rodgers from Liverpool denotes a club beset by a strange muddle of contradictions. These range right up the great grumbling club, from the uncertain transfer activity, the abrupt change of heart over Rodgers’ tenure, even in that huge roof truss erected with such ceremony in the summer, and up to the remote regime of FSG itself.

The broader context for all the turmoil is Liverpool’s identity crisis in the Premier League era, with a huge family of fans pining for the dynastic dominance that preceded it, but the club eclipsed financially, first by Manchester United’s commercialisation, then the oligarch and sheikh injections at Chelsea and Manchester City, and Arsenal’s London property boom.'

Liverpool's hand was forced by Advocaat leaving Sunderland. There are proven managers, including Klopp, out there hanging on for a Premiership job. Liverpool's owners would not have wanted to risk the best of the unemployed bunch plumping for the Mackems.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Not sure who the fu will fancy going to Blunderland. There's a stink about that club. A succession of poor appointments - Di Canio, Poyet...
