It's £40k a week which is less than the average PL wage and without a transfer fee I don't see the risk? Like I said I'd have concerns that his legs have gone but if it was just an off season and he can get back to his 2013/14 form he'll be well worth the money. Obviously QPR took it too far but it was more bringing in players who couldn't be bothered rather than the age of the players they brought in there's nothing wrong with a bit of experience and other than Ian Harte who isn't going to be playing that much they don't have much experience at the back.

Just seen the interview he has given on SSN. He seems a very intelligent and well adjusted young man. Not a monosyllabic gum chewing oaf (yes I do mean you,Shane Long!), but a pleasure to watch the interview and not have one cliché. He's got a good manager in Eddie Howe and I detect the same attitude in Bournemouth that they had at Burnley last season in that they will give it a go but it won't be the end of the world if they got relegated and that they have a really talented coach much like Dyche at Turf Moor. That is a good lesson in how to run a football club and one that Tony Fernandez learnt the hard way at QPR.
