Lot of talk of 'going with the youth' next season, but even if we are down to signing out-of-contract Champ players - if that is our market now - the squad will need massive padding out, even Ramsey must know we haven't enough kids to do that with.
If we use a few quid to sign up-and-coming young high performers from, say, League One, that's another thing. I wonder if we will, though.
Whatever the right thing is, you can generally back us not to do it.

Hate to quote the Fact Hunt and Redknapp apologist that is Martin Samuel but here goes.... "HR 19 points from 23 games at an average of 0.82 was relegation form, it works out as roughly 31 points over the season, and he must take a large share of responsibility for this outcome. Yet Ramsey, who it was hoped would engage the players, has taken eight points from 13 games at an average of 0.61. That hardly suggests he is a better option"
I know its Redknapp`s side Ramsey inherited but if he is the great coach people say he is then surely he had to do better than that to be even considered.
These stats don't take into account our home fixtures. Harry had the bottom half of the table and CR had the top half.
All matters very little now, it was simply that the (Harry's) squad was not fit for purpose. He may not be the only one to blame for this but CR had nothing to do with it!
Les and CR were brought in to change the culture, ethos and set up of the club. They have barely started. Let them get on with it for at least the next season and a half whatever happens.

Usually when we use the term 'brought in to' it's because the people coming in have a track record of success in a particular area. I don't dislike either but Les and CR did not come with a vast amount of experience of changing the identity of a football club.
Would you really let Ramsay carry on for a season and a half regardless of results? I certainly wouldn't. If we're going to leave someone alone to do a job, then I'd rather go with someone more qualified. Definitely less of a risk. Liverpool have trusted Rodgers (so far!) but he had done a good job at previous clubs.

Hughes & Redknapp were big name experienced managers hired on big money. Ramsey is the complete opposite of those being as good as a nobody with no experience and would be the cheap option. Clement would be similar to Ramsey too.
Like most things in life we need to get the balance right which in my opinion would be Warburton, or maybe even Adkins, who ticks a lot of the boxes and appears to be the right fit at the right time.
Good, young, English players are not cheap. I think we should do the following:
We will focus on identifying and recruiting young players whose best years are ahead of them, which in nearly all cases means players in their early to mid-20s and not beyond. In addition, we aim to strengthen the squad underneath the first team to make sure we have a strong group of players pushing our regular first team for a starting place each week. This is essential to bring out the best in everyone and provide an important element of continuity to the squad for the longer term
By the way that is Mike "hated by every Geordie" Ashleys policy!
Starting to think Tony has had some kind of breakdown. Slumped in his chair in a locked boardroom, dribbling uncontrollably, as the only man with a key, Les, pops in and feeds on his decaying carcass. I cannot think of any other possible explanation.

The point being Dave, we all know that but TF wont admit it and will spin his bllx claiming he meant Ramsey all along.
No he didn't, he said in several interviews that Ramsey wasn't who he was talking about but hoped that he could be our dream manager and wanted to give him the chance

he may well be but that's not what he's said before and pointless having a pop at him for something he hasn't done yet.
I'd got for Warburton as well
Actually it's not. Being able to accurately predict the poor practices and mistakes that someones going to make is a criticism all of itself.
Can we dispense with this trend of 'you don't know this is going to happen' followed swiftly by 'oh yeah well everythings obvious with hindsight.' Not you Dave just in general.
