Why do keepers nowadays kick the ball from their hands in a sideway motion when back in the day they would kick the ball from their hands in a forward motion in front of them? When did this start to change? i always thought it was just an unnatural way to kick.

Not sure ,just a guess, but balls are a lot lighter these days so just kicking it as hard as you can straight up in the air could potentially knock one of BSkyB's satellites out of alignment, so now keepers are trained to put bit of backspin on but keep it low so the ball stays in the stadium.

Occasional providers of half decent House music.

I wasn't a keeper and I reckon I could achieve maybe 75%

I also reckon I might of come off my line to meet the free-kick Spurs put in that Kane scored from.
I also reckon I would've been stronger if being bustled into the net last season.
I'm sure I'd patrol the pitch away from my line and bark orders to my back four (in fact I did that when in goal at training)
I think I'd also spot a few flaws in my game and work on them if I was earning coin and doing nothing else but goalkeeping..... maybe like judging crosses that hit or just go past the post, kicking from the deck or my hands and actually being able to punch the ball more than 3 yards.

But it's all subjective.

Greeno Greeno and all that

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

The day Rob Green was beamed down from Planet Calamity.

I know almost nothing about the Premier League even though I try to catch the big games every now and then at the end of the season. But I will say this, Queens Park Rangers is just a fukking sick ass team name. Just sounds so cool.

The "continentals" started doing that, our own Brazilian superstar did that.
I always thought if you had a stiff wind in your boat you either chucked the ball out to a defender to hoof - sorry, long pass - the ball upfield or you kicked from the deck.
