Superb performance and got what we deserved 21:43 - Dec 2 with 3763 views | Parlay | Completely dominated from start to finish. Not one player had a bad game. Britton starting ahead of Shelvey as i called for prior to the game to allow Ki a slightly more advanced role was a great decision by Garry and Ki continues to show his absolute class. Different player under Monk. Excellent to see Leon back doing what he does and we looked a more controlled and sure of ourselves as a midfield unit. Bony was an absolute beast, does squander a fair few chances but his sheer physical presence, hold up and build up play is superb and integral to our performance. Also well done to Jazz who stepped up to the plate and looked very accomplished at full back, also nice to see Taylor look back to his best today as well as Bartley continuing to impress. I thought this was going to be another frustrating game where we just couldn't score but thankfully Rob Green was finally beaten by a cracking effort and the overwhelmingly better team won. Top 6 tonight, that will do nicely. [Post edited 2 Dec 2014 21:45]

Absolutely superb yes. Dominated from the first to the last minute and deservedly won 2-0, could have been 5-0 if their keeper hadn't taken a super keeper pill.

We've played better but we were excellent tonight and did a superb job against a side who played for the point right from the off

It was a subtle dig at one of my stalkers who called me a "berk" and "clueless about football" that i even suggest Britton replace Shelvey.

Indeed. Couldn't get down the Lib tonight, but if I didn't already have a super-value season ticket I'd have happily paid £45 for a ticket for tonight's entertainment. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Superb performance and got what we deserved on 23:20 - Dec 2 with 2231 views | acejack3065 | As Monk said, it was a complete performance and as soon as we scored QPR crumbled. It should have been 4-0 after the first two. If Rob Green hadn't had such a stormer I think the game would have been well won by 70 minutes. I was at odds when Montero was taken off rather than Routs but super Garry Monk proved me wrong as Nathan brought fresh ideas to the attack as well as providing the assist for Routs. We have played better and not won but that couldn't be a more irrelevant statement when you play well and win.

He showed great technique with the outside of his foot this evening. He was unlucky that it bounced back off the post. Rob Green also made two brilliant saves to deny him.

I don't think thats a great plan for parking the bus given their defence.

Siggy is the same too. We need players with that sort of hunger. Would like to see a bit more of that from Gomis when he gets his next chance.

He didn't replace Shelvey positionally you utter quim. He came on FOR Britton but he played Ki's more advance role whilst Ki (eventually aided by Carroll after Siggy went off) played the Britton role. Oh hang on, are you saying Carroll replaced Siggy like for like because it seemed Shelvey was sitting RIGHT behind Wilfried , obviously in a defensive position on the edge of the oppositions 18 yard box. Closing down their back four, that's the ultimate DM there lol

And not only a realist, someone who judder stands the game to boot! QPR were worse than dogs doo doos , the only mystery for me is how we were so unlucky with our final pass on countless occasions. Could have been 6!

Superb performance and got what we deserved on 10:36 - Dec 3 with 1535 views | lostjock | Great to see squad players coming into the starting 11 and doing a job... Jazz (although without being under too much pressure) looked settled, and Bartley looking more and more like a premier league player each game he plays. You'd swear we'd shelled out the big FF money for him. Carroll - Like this lad, long term replacement for Britton perhaps? Siggy & Bony - Different Level!

He's more like a Joe Allen type to me and Joe never had the ability to do what Leon does. More effective further forward I think mate.

It took you all night to come up with that response? How disappointing. Yesterday i said Britton needs to start instead of Shelvey, you said "if you think shelvey is competing with britton for a place then you know nothing about football etc etc etc". I told you id happily bet that when shelvey is dropped then it would be for britton, you said you didnt want to make me look any more stupid by taking the bet. Man up, stop back tracking and squirming and admit that indeed you were a berk and continuing to be an utter quim. As i warned, these obsession driven vendettas only serve to make you look stupid as you will always be forced to hold the opposite opinion against a bloke that always talks sense. Wriggle wriggle .

Superb performance and got what we deserved on 11:34 - Dec 3 with 1414 views | LeonisGod | As others have said, we've played better and lost. The two words that sum up last night for me is patience and relief. At the start of the 2nd it looked like we were going to get frustrated and start the long ball stuff again, but we quickly settled thankfully. It was a 'complete' performance in that we stuck to it and showed great patience. Then the way we killed the game off with the second was class. Individually, yes he scored and that's ultimately the telling fact, but generally I didn't think Ki was near his best. And Bony was very wasteful at times - hold up play was fine, but his passing woeful more often than not. Jazz also looked hesitant, but was ok and yep should be congratulated as he doesn't get much game time. Personally I think we need better, but that's not his fault. Leon was magnificent considering the time he's had out. Ash and Bartley were rocks. Wingers did well, credit Dyer for the impact he had when he came on too. All round pretty good, and obviously an excellent result, but it was looking like a very frustrating night until Ki's burst into the box.

For the last time - our capable defensive midfielders - Leon and Ki (Ki at a push but has the footballing brain and the class/composure to play there . Box to box - JJS , Ki , Tom Carroll Advanced/attacking Midfielder - Siggy and JJS (Ki at a push) That is our midfield and it's capabilities. When JJS and Ki have played when Leon is injured Shelvey has been the box to box player , for his energy and running and also his goal threat. For the record I will and have in the past admit when I am wrong, I don't have the ego or arrogance to carry on blithely denying the truth when I'm corrected. This time however I stand by my opinion because I believe what I say to be true. JJS may make a DM in 5 or more years time but he at the moment doesn't have that skillset. Composure being the obvious one. If you see that differently then god for you. But I'm basing my opinion on someone who has watched nearly every PL/Championship game at the liberty in the flesh (not from Australia on TV or just a few fleeting visits per year) and as a former local league player who played in midfield, wing, full back (and even up front occasionally) I know what a DM does and is supposed to do. Leon is the epitome in this respect for me. If you think JJS and Leon are interchangeable fine, I do not. I'm not saying any more on this subject which has clearly become an obsession for you because you feel hurt by the word "Berk" which in light of your condition perhaps I shouldn't have. I have seen you do this on every thread where someone dares to have a different opinion to you and you go on and on arguing the same point as infinitum. You could say the sun was the moon a million times until someone stops answering because there's no way they could convince you otherwise. It's repetitive behaviour at it's very, very worst. There's even a thread on the JNF board where another poster describes you in exactly the same terms (message board fools it's entitled). So not only is it myself who's noticed this. Yesterday it was DGT and the day before that it was Warwick Hunt. Stop it for God's sake man.
