Stevenage 2 Macclesfield Town 2 Saturday, 7th Aug 2010 17:51 by TheSilkWeb Macclesfield Town showed Stevenage that this Football League lark isn't as easy as it seems at Broadhall Way this afternoon. It was nearly three points in the bag for the Silkmen until Charlie Griffin popped up in the 89th minute. Stevenage got off to the best possible start to the game with Peter Vincenti heading home on seven minutes but the lead didn't last long. A Matthew Hamshaw free kick was inch perfect and Nat Brown got his head to it 15 yards out to equalise for the Silkmen. Macc controlled the game from then on and in the second half got the well deserved second goal. This time it was new boy Tyrone Barnett who slotted home from close range. But it wasn't to be and I guess the Stevenage fans went home the happier at the end of the game as the Underdogs of Macclesfield let Griffin in to slot home past Jose Veiga. Silkmen boss Simpson was said to be very pleased with the point at the end of the game. Gary Simpson pre match interview
