There are QPR fans in ER blocks W thru X. I am one of a group of 8 that sit in that section, and to a man we hate that area. It is a disgrace quite frankly that we have to sit there. QPR (the club) sell blocks and blocks of seats to ticket agencies and all we get around us are tourists who often support the away team. Some even wear the away shirts and take photos of each other with pride wearing Liverpool or Man U tops in a supposedly QPR section. And they care little about the game or QPR as they arrive late, leave for the bar after 30 minutes and get back late 2nd half etc., Give the ER tourist end to away No need to knock any houses down. That end of the ER has access in and out of the ground. I know as I use it to leave the stadium after home games. It is at the end of the row of houses and the school. Meets health and safety standards as a formal access point in and out of the ground. No need for any common access in or out. Home fans get the middle entrance. Away fans the access at there end of the ER stand. Having seen my points above there would be no children sitting below away fans. But, for the record many grounds have home fans above away fans (which do have children in there ranks) such as West Ham, Sheff Utd , Liverpool and many more. Giving the away fans ER seating allows the club to allocate on a team by team basis as you purely move the mesh required across seating to be moved along. It solves so many problems not least giving away fans a taste of the worst facilities I have seen bar Rotherham. |

The more I read thread, the more I actually think most people are in agreement that Loftus Road and QPR as a club need a family enclosure or stand. I also agree with that wholeheartedly. My thinking, though, is purely around the logistics of where the family area should reside. I still feel strongly that the Loftus Road end of the ground should be vocal and core QPR supporters. Lets put the fear of god into the opposition and try and draw that ball into the opposition net. My view would be that the lower school end should be reserved for children with or without their parents and this would have involved moving NO season ticket holders as it had never previously been used for season ticket sales. Amazing, but this decision would have caused not one iota of complaint, fuss or acrimony for the aforesaid reason, and likely would have been welcomed as a resoundingly great idea and Phillip Beard would have been toasted in celebration of delivering a great idea into reality. The upper school end could also be transformed into a home end and hey presto QPR fans have control and command of both ends of LR. Now lets give the opposition a roasting vocally. The Ellerslie Road stand blocks W through to X could then become the away supporters residence. Giving the away fans the worst facilities and seats seems to make so much sense it clearly decision to make. All QPR fans would have been satisfied and no harm done. Sounds too easy. |

You wait till ext year and you have to move..... The facilities in the Ellerslie border on derelict and all the best seats are taken by existing season ticket holders. It's not fun. |

I think the changing of the Lower Loft was wrong on a number of counts. 1- QPR fans were not consulted, let alone LL season ticket holders. Fans were just told to pick a seat somewhere else in the ground. Some did not renew. Lost fans to QPR maybe forever. 2- Away fans have been reported in the LL. Games such as Liverpool and Man U away shirts could clearly be seen. Wrong on every level. 3- Today summed up the failure of 'The Family Stand'. Empty seats for us all to see. Galling for those forced to move seats. I am guessing the club has either lost revenue of parents just choose not to bring their kids. And be clear the rules do not state that your children have to attend. You in effect just get more room and less QPR fans get to attend. 4- And here's one that no-one at the club obviously noticed. Lets give children the best seats in the stadium. Yes, let's give kids the best leg room in the house..... Jokers. 5- And by the same token, lets give away fans a complete end at times to outsing out family stand. Even Harry voiced his surprise at this fact at a recent fans forum. 6- And again, by the same token, lets give adult QPR fans poorer leg room in the Upper Loft and Ellerslie Road stands. Actually, the ER stand is a disgrace and borders health and safety regulations in every way. Away fans should have one end of the Ellerslie Road. It has access in and out of the stadium and is such a wreck of a stand it is not fit for QPR fans when other stands are better suited. QPR fans should have both ends and that really would help QPR fans outsing away fans. That way the Family Stand can stay where it is and QPR (home) fans can sit behind a goal as is traditional in this country. |

It is not a sign of the times. Not sure what that statement actually means? It was just a poor decision that can be changed. |

My thoughts are this. The decision to have the Lower Loft as the family stand and ousting lifelong rangers fans was poor bordering on ridiculous. It has taken the 'home end' roar away from loftus road and has cost QPR a number of points this season. The Phil Beard decision may even have single handedly relegated the club. (Anyone there yesterday will have witnessed Man U fans roaring Man U on. I was ashamed as QPR fans sat silent) The fans forum was just one opportunity for Phil Beard to understand how poor his decision has been viewed and he needs to rectify this in time for the start of our Championship campaign next August. I did suggest to him pre season and would suggest again that the Loftus Road end be given over to home fans only. The Lower school end should become our 'family stand' and the Upper school end should be given to home fans also. My point is that we need to give every legitimate advantage we possibly can to QPR and having home fans behind each goal is taking that advantage. The Ellerslie Raod stand is the single worst stand in the premier league. It is simply a disgrace and quite frankly a health and safety risk. (Not sure how it can get any sort of heath certificate) Away fans should occupy the one end of this rusty old wreck of a shed. Give them the poorest facilities we have and let the rangers fans roar on the team from behind the goals. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Good point TGGGGGRS. Some have renewed with no issues, BUT. The club have stated that was an error and they are writing to those fans to ask them to move their seating. |

Unfortunately it does stem from BlatantFool's ridiculous complaint, but little can be done now. We are hoping common sense prevails. I will be in touch when we book our seats. Roley |

Hi Jamie. My son Simon sits next to you in row G. We have yet to renew as we try and square out this fiasco. I will let you know our plans in the coming days, but likely we will move to the Ellerslie Road stand. Talk soon. |
