Yes they were, but It wasn't that sort of night. I've never been to Elland Road before and found such a flat atmosphere. The 20 thousand missing people might have had something to do with that. Friends of mine who are season ticket holders there unanimously decided not to bother. Can't blame them really.

Now come on. Hoilet was trying really hard...to generate a July payslip. I believe I saw Philips chase back as well, once. And Polter was just Polter, got us a penalty just by wanting it more than anybody else.
It was nice to have an away bar right next to the away bit as well, and the free shirts to be got inside. I got two! [Post edited 6 Apr 2016 1:26]

Surely we should be aiming to finish as high as possible in the table and not settle for 11th? Look at the prize money on offer in the championship! What is it now £5.26 for each place or something? |

You can get fibre right into your premises but it's pricy, maybe hundreds or even thousands to install, with a hefty monthly charge to go with. Fibre to the local streetside green box is what they sell to homes with copper the rest of the way. In effect the green box becomes your exchange as there's no attenuation between the exchange and the street box. Graphs are avaliable on the internet which show distance against speed you can expect. |

I'd agree about Philips. He had 4 or 5 chances to do something but always chose the long range shot, and they were all unfortunately misfires. Henry put himself about a bit, perfect sort of match for his 'talents' really, and Toszer had a fine shot, and that was it, bloody cold. Oh, and first tine I'd seen Smithies, looked a solid keeper.
Locals were friendly and I was able to park on the pavement literally across the street from the ground! |

Well I thoroughly enjoyed today's match. My first since the Wembley trip, so I certainly can't profess to know these players very well. I thought we bossed the game for the most part, though the opposition was poor. The defence looked semi-solid though there was a sticky patch after the first substitution for about 10 minutes, and I also thought Massimo was doing really well! It was a bit baffling at the time, but shortly after we'd scored 3 times, so what do I know?
I really liked JET's performance. I think he's a real find. Surprisingly skilful and manoeuvrable for such a big bloke and contributed in all areas of the pitch. Good with link up plays as well, and he has an long throw, which wasn't really utilised with the lack of run up space. Loungo also I was impressed with and Hall, a very proficient defender. I also liked Clint's no nonsense approach to defending and his constant stream of instructions to the younger guys. His return must surely be linked to 2 clean sheets in a row. I'm sure Green feels better to see him in front of him. He's basically the captain despite what it says on the program.
We had 3 very presentable chances in the first half, to Chery, Henry and Konchesky, so the first goal was a long time coming, but very well taken.
Minor point, but I wasn't very impressed with Tozer (sp.), seemed quite ineffectual, looking on rather than getting stuck in, though did provide the pass for Philips, not sure what the problem on here is with Henry either. Solid but unspectacular performance, but doesn't that just define his entire career?
I was disappointed by the booing at half time. We weren't losing and had had some good chances, and ended up with a comprehensive win. Isn't that enough? |
