I think bringing in more players from u21 level has to be tried. Man of the match at West Ham v Bournemouth this week was a19 year old . If you are good enough you are old enough. Even training with the first team has to improve strength / physicality .
Interesting listening to UTD's new manager speaking after the City match . He left out Rashford and Garnacho simply because others had trained better this week and were included instead. The message was that they were not bad players and it was nothing to do with discipline but having looked closely at the squad in training he made the decision.
Each and every week the slate is wiped clean and every player starts from a default position - very clever management.
Obviously he is sending out the message that the team gets picked on how well you train during the week. This will have the subtle affect of raising standards at training sessions - a clever move by the new boss. Also it provides motivation for lesser lights work hard and you are in with a chance of team selection. It will also weed out the less committed.
Utd obviously have the luxury of a large squad unlike ours but by bringing in more u 21 players the " load " on the regular players can be eased a little especially where games come thick and fast it will provide fresh competition in training and help prevent players becoming jaded and stale. At the same time it will tell our manager who in the u21's is good enough and who can step up when needed.

It's a steep learning curve when you first start riding . The first 6 - 12 months are critical because you are new and learning " on the job " . It's a bit like being a spitfire pilot in the battle of Britain I suppose . Young pilots were often asked How many hours on Spitfires?
The more hours the more likely you were to survive. If I could give one piece of advice to a novice rider it would be watch out at junctions . Junctions are where a lot of rta's happen . Iam speaking from personal experience here as well I got knocked off twice at junctions by drivers not paying attention .
Your brother in law sounds as if he was trying to impress you with his skills but had the opposite effect. As they say - accidents are nature's way of telling you to slow down.

You are never too old Max . One of life's great pleasures is a spin out into open countryside on a warm summer day . A car moves your body a bike moves your soul but you knew that anyway. One of the drawbacks of living on this Sceptered isle is that Summers are too short .
and the opportunities to ride also limited by poor weather . I often wonder how a nation such as ours with the short seasons and inclement weather has produced the finest bikes on the planet .
Marques like Norton, BSA ,Triumph, Ariel ,Sunbeam ,AJS, Vincent, Brough Superior, Rudge , Matchless etc. were born solely from the engineering gene and not from the urge to get sunburnt in the saddle.

I was riding a motorbike on a straight just outside Glasbury . There was a dip in the road . Suddenly a pheasant flew vertically upwards .. I knew I was going to hit it . I carried on straight braced myself and headed it into the side of the road . 1.nil back of the net . The Swans would have been proud.
