I live in Barrow and can 100% corroborate this. Apprenticeship schemes will pay for degree level qualifications and a lab impressive starting salary. There has been a brain drain in the town to a degree though - plenty of teachers and similar professions leaving to work “at the yard” as the pay and job security is unparalleled around here
I can appreciate both arguments here, but for me the challenge Armstrong does right at the start of the highlights is far far worse - he's high, he's late and he's not in control.
Yet this didn't even get pulled back for a retrospective yellow.
Yep its goosed. I bet the Bromley screening they tweeted about further up this thread is scuppered - they'll be watching it via the streaming too - or not watching is more accurately!
First time streaming the match tonight - can't see where on the National League TV site I can actually click to watch? Im logged in and I've bought the match pass...
The disallowed Walsall goal - defender drags down Lloyd at far post as corner comes in. Watch the highlights, it’s a very clear foul and correct decision
I'd be very excited if I were an Orient fan. Pace down the wings, midfielders who can pick out passes. Their number 2 and 7 are a heck of a combination down the right side. Look a force to be reckoned with.
I've a good mate who's a bradford fan. He said when Hughes announced their released list, O'Donnell was the one most of the fans were surprised at - solid keeper who is more than adequate for this level.
Turns out Bradford have signed a 24 year old keeper from Southampton who Hughes said he knew and rated from his time back as Saints boss. So its not like Bradford didnt want to keep him, it just so happened Hughes has used his connections to get a keeper who's probably well above league 2 level.
I saw and heard enough in that 10minute interview with Jim a few weeks back to explain exactly why we need him around the club - player, coach, whatever.
I'd forgot about Max Taylor's goal. Hits pretty much the same spot in the Sandy Lane net as EOC's did. Perhaps the two best goals of the season were scored by central defenders?
Chuffed for him. Gave dale many seasons of dedication and always gave his all. Hopefully he gets promotion too - be good to see him in the championship.
Remember this game well. Romain Larrieu was immense for them all season - they only conceded 28 goals. The saves he pulled off here we was doing all season long for them.
Campbell isn't a target man, hold up the ball, fend off the centre halves style player. We knew that when we signed him - he would thrive playing off a big man. Not sure that big man is Charman. It't the third (maybe fourth?) post-match interview running where RS praises Campbell despite him "feeding off scraps" - well something needs to change there surely.
Port Vale's central defenders were big, physical and knew their stuff at this level. FWIW i doubt Beesley would've got much change from their defenders last night.
