I assume Vazquez will play as winger and Bony in front. This cup is too important for ML to play without neither Michu or Bony, and Michu seriously needs a break after giving 200% in every game so far.
When the game is secured, Bony will be relieved of his duty on the pitch to be prepared for the Gunners.
I think that that is spot on. Ability and character is what defines our team.
I've wondered what characteristics ML was looking for in his signings this summer. Potential ability, class in character and the heart of a lion is actually what defines the lot!
How does the transfers work in Swansea? I could imagine ML giving the board a long list of potential targets, and the board deciding which of the targets fit the Swansea way. Maybe they have a lot to say in regard to character. After all we didn't get Odemwingie.
The problem is neither that you're danish nor that you hold ML in high regard. The problem is that you're ignorant to Swansea's incredible history which started way before ML came to the club!
If it wasn't for ML, I might not be aware of this incredible history myself, and therefore I might not feel as emotional attached to this club. Though I have great faith in ML, I've worried sick that ML's ego might in some way spoil the foundation of this great club.
Luckily ML has made a shame of my worries, and he has proven a perfect match for the club. The sky is the limit, and I truly believe he will stick around as long as feels he can contribute to the clubs development as well as his managing career. Afterwards I think he will take a long and deserved holiday before taking on his next job.
Though there are no guarantees, nothing suggests that Swansea will not find the perfect successor as they have done so many times before!
When he came, I did wonder if he shouldn't switch out his weightlifting with yoga for awhile. Though the lad was definitely powerful, he neither seemed very fast nor very agile.
His development has been great however, and he's settled into the team very well. Already an important part of the team, but given time he will become a beast!
I think his progression stagnated in the Eredivisie. Since the end of last season however, he has shown great progress once again, and I have been very impressed with his start in Spurs.
Lamah: Hard to judge with the limited playtime made available to him.
Dyer: Very pacy player who's good at taking on defenders, but his passing and vision is somewhat lacking.
Routledge: Thrives when space is available but often suffers when space is tight.
Hernandez: A bit inconsistent and not always the best long balls. Incredible technique and linkup play when supported, but suffers when left on his own.
Pozuelo: Still early days but seems very complete in his play. Is currently to bad at keeping his position when used as a winger.
I find, that the biggest issue is that the team has lost a bit of confidence after the Man U game. Now there is way too much insecurity and focus on defensive posture on the team. We don't really have a Ronaldo or Bale etc. The wingers we have at our disposal are very dependent on the support from a midfield who dare to play football.
Whether we need new wingers or not depends on our willingness to play football.

One day a brilliant idea occurred in the city named after the most majestic bird in all the realms. If the team only consisted of little guys, the big guys on the other teams would neither be able to catch the little guys nor the inflated leather if passed quickly enough between them. The new game plan worked beyond anyone’s expectations. They didn’t even have to run from one end of the field to the other. All it required was to pick a part off the field, and run around passing quickly in triangles while the opponents grasped for their breath in pursuit.
In time they got to play against the best teams from all of the realms, and on top of that, they got the most majestic coach who had ever played the game of kicking to inflated leather. Even though he was sure that he could continue the brilliant game plan, he wanted to introduce the concept of pursuing chances to kick the inflated leather into the opponents net; a part of the game that he had been quite skilful at in his playing days.
The majestic coach had two problems however. First the opponents were no longer big guys but very fast athletic guys, and the game plan didn’t work quite as well any longer. The opponents didn’t tire as easily and once in a while they actually caught the ball. Secondly the little guys couldn’t kick the ball hard enough to get it passed the opponent’s keeper of the net.
The majestic coach used all his contacts to try to get some athletic guys himself, but they would rather play with other athletic guys, and besides the community was not used to paying much treasure for their players. Little guys, though popular in sunny lands far far away, were not often used in these realms. As forces dictate on any given marked, the little players could therefore be acquired quite cheaply.
The majestic coach wondered what to do, and due his familiarity with rock-paper-scissor, he finally completed his thesis on the football wisdom of trinity. If little guys beat big guys, and athletic guys beat little guys, surely big guys must beat athletic guys! The majestic coach is however still trying to find the best way to implement and utilize on his new found knowledge.
People seriously need to stop being so schizophrenic!
One minute everybody suffers from delusions of grandeur, and the next minute we are apparently on the brink of relegation.
We’ve had a great pre-season and demolished our opponents in the Europe League qualification.
We played a game against Man U. where both central- and side backs were a bit unfocused, and that was ruthlessly punished by van Persie. Otherwise we played a decent game, and nobody could truly believe that the odds favoured us.
Tonight we played away against another incredible team, and with a little luck and a better referee, we might actually have achieved a draw.
That being said, I don’t really think the play style has suited us in these games, though I truly like the intentions. Playing with 3 slow and heavy midfielders with average technique and relying on counterattacking is troublesome. Either it demands that everybody commits in the attacks, which leaves you exposed in the back, and that was the case against Man U. Otherwise it demands really fast and strong wingers to catch the opposition off guard, which doesn’t exactly match the type of wingers at our disposal.
Overall we’ve played much better when returning to a more natural playstyle, though one cannot blame ML for experimenting with tactics, and overall we’ve had some good games against superior opponents. On top of that, players like Bony and Alex (Pozuelo) have constantly evolved, which shows great promise for the future.
