Won at a canter after their initial momentum dried up, which it did quickly after we scored. Dominated the game from then on and won at a canter. Walsall were well beaten and they knew it, they were demoralised and dispirited, hanging on to keep it down to two nil by the end. Very good football team now, the Dale |

Good to see the Dale taking the game to the opposition, particularly in the second half. Played with energy and adventure and with some luck could have scored more. This against a team and manager who should be ashamed of themselves. Vale set up to spoil the game and cheat the referee, never have so many stout footballers been brought to the ground by seemingly innocuous challenges which conned the poor referee. Hooper a revelation, McDermott a constant threat from the moment he came on, Bennett getting back t his best which is great to see. Hendo running across the line nicely with Andrew a good foil today playing well. Camps more comfortable a little deeper and much to be optimistic about today. Well played Dale in awful conditions, some really nice stuff, thoroughly deserved the win. |

Failed to create chances in dominant first half. Poor second with odd substitutions but understand need for Cannon to come off. Poor game, Fleetwood were spoilers but we lacked shape in second half. Cannon looks the real deal, looked strong at the back. Up front final pass creating chances is the issue. Brandy very poor, Bunny not up to it physically. Can't understand RNL/BH remaining on bench when goals needed. But we are in a far better position than we could have hoped. Hopefully Dawson return will bring some drive. We are strong but where are the goals going to come from? |

Despite a poor first half where County had the better of the game we deserved better after a second period which we dominated, could and should have scored more. Again comment must be made of the referee. Again a shocker, gives what he imagines he sees as opposed to what actually happens and costs the Dale 2 points with a shocking decision to allow their final goal in the 5th minute of 4 additional minutes. Just wonder why we shut up shop late on and didn't continue to take the game to a team which was looking well beaten. The old adage of playing in the opposition half still holds for me. Not keen on having to comment on referees but it happens too often I'm afraid, some shockers! |

Very frustrating all around. Not our day but we do need to capitalise on such dominance and certainly so many clear chances. Surprised to see Rose play though he played very well but feel Hery does bring an energy and imagination which we could have done with second half in particular. Sometimes seem hesitant when chances occur rather than being decisive. Similar with some mistakes at the back though we were good today in that department, you could say Bennet should have cleared decisively. Andrew isn't a Dale player and contributes little in my view to the way we play at our best, in fact he disrupts it.
Understand why the ref was booed as I sat in the main stand and saw him give two throws the wrong way one after the other right in front of me, the second of which led directly to the attack where they scored. Lines man on Wilbutts side also made mistakes, one howler when Hendo was released down the left in dangerous position. Ref let himself down with one or two other odd decisions which then of course get amplified so do understand frustration with him. Can't blame the ref though, should have taken chances! |
