| News Comment | Sunday Last Day Premier Fixtures Mean Later Kick Off at 10:05:57
There will always be politics going on, this was all about getting the best deal for the future of our club, which has now been achieved. Adkins was a good manager and will hopefully succeed at Reading, but Pochettino is more tactically aware, has improved team performances and will attract a better class of player to the club, as the next few months will prove. |

arfurdent - I'm going to tell her. Anyway I'm sick to bloody death with having to celebrate promotions every bloody year by trampling across the sacred turf, it would make a nice change to sit and admire the parenting skills of our beloved team for a change. |

Saintandy11 - I'm with you mate, lets have a rousing chorus anyway to celebrate the woman who sold off electricity, gas, water, railways and put more old age pensioners in prison (over poll tax) than any other Prime Minister. |

I wonder if the fans complaining about Adkins sacking are the same ones who complained about Pardew's sacking? Thanks Nigel, I wish you a speedy return to management (as long as it's not to the Skates). Mauricio, welcome to Southampton, we're the best fans in the land and we want you to be a winner. |
| News Comment | Saints V Chelsea The Verdict at 15:39:20
What the f*ck was Adkins thinking, only resting 2 first-teamers in a meaningless match when we are away to Villa next week. If Villa beat a Fonte-less Saints team then Adkins should hang his head in shame. Did Wigan make the same mistake? No, they rested 9 players. Villa, they rested 7 players. |
| News Comment | Crucial January Transfer Window Ahead at 14:59:05
Nick you've got it totally right. Trouble is we all knew that before the season kicked off we needed a goalie, a centre back, a left back and a winger and what happened? Only Shaw coming through at left back, while Davis still can't intercept crosses, Yoshida hasn't come up to Premiership standard and Mayuka is so poor that de Ridder gets on ahead of him! Next year is the start of the really big Premiership money and we won't be there to collect it unless Cortese listens to Nick! |

Against Reading Kelvin failed to catch two crosses which were inside the 6 yard box, one resulted in a header hitting the post, the other a header inches wide, with Kelvin no where near either. A better team would have scored both and we would have lost. Gazza would have either caught or punched both crosses because he commands the 6 yard area AND communicates with the defence. Until Kelvin learns to deal with crosses and stop shots low to his left side there is only one keeper to save us, Gazza (or Paul Robinson if we buy him in January). |

And what about Billy Sharp at West Ham last year? Saints would almost certainly have lost that match if Taylor hadn't been dismissed in the 18th minute, Billy prostrate and clutching his face as if hit by Mike Tyson. If we had have lost West Ham would have been promoted and Saints would have been in the play-offs, probably losing to Blackpool again. Well done Billy and thank you. |
| News Comment | Season Ticket Prices Announced At St Mary's at 14:13:05
Last year Block 34 was the same price as the Northam end even though it was just around the corner. Suddenly it has become part of the Kingsland Stand, so for us the price rise is from £460 to £625 (£165 for lamo's without calculators). Serves me right for joining in with "We're the Kingsland over here". Bottom line is, if you don't like it don't buy it, but for Scummers like us that's not an option. Next year's price rise will be determined by our average gate, if we're getting 32k every game then up it will go again, that's business. |
| News Comment | Is The Coming Of The Vuvuzela Nigh ! at 11:38:52
I seriously considered buying a vuvuzela whilst in Africa, but decided not to. The choice is simple - chanting or vuvuzela, you can't have both because 5 vuvuzelas will drown out the entire Northam choir. What do we do though, if Rochdale turn up at St. Mary's with 5 fans and 5 vuvuzelas? We must ban vuvuzelas from St Mary's or risk every match being like 90 minutes with a mosquito in your ear. I urge every Saints fan to email sfc@saintsfc.co.uk and request a vuvuzela ban. The World Cup without chanting is one thing, St Mary's without chanting is unthinkable. |
