I thought he was fantastic again last night but agree that the turning backwards when at times it is actually far simpler to go forwards into space is something he can improve. He has a wonderful touch, which is such an asset playing his position as it gives him that extra second to win the ball. |

He's a different type of player though. Not every footballer charges around like a Yorkshire terrier on speed like Mackie, even in this era. I genuinely don't think he does too much wrong in that clip - he played the ball forward to Alfie in the first place and Alfie is closer to the ball when he loses it. I suppose you could argue he should have been busting a gut to get forward in support but we don't know what instructions Marti gave him in terms of holding his position. At this stage his reputation precedes him and people are expecting him to be ineffectual when he plays but I thought he did okay last night, made a few passes and cleared a few balls. Obviously Morgan is the find of the season and Madsen is always going to be unfavourably compared with him, even if he's probably not the same type of player (as a former defender, Morgan seems far more suited to the role of a box-to-box midfielder). |

Okay, I'll bite. He plays the ball through for Lloyd. Wben Hull win the ball back he initially (and correctly) thinks Lloyd is closer to the ball to challenge for the ball and gestures for him to do so, while keeping his own position. Then when Lloyd doesn't, he challenges and is unlucky not to come away with the ball. I really don't think we should be slagging off our own players on such scant 'evidence'. |

I think the problem with Ashby is that he's too high risk. Marti has got this squad so well drilled now that everyone knows their role, where they should be and what they should be doing. Ashby is chaos personified. He had a couple of decent games for us but every time he's on the pitch now he feels like an accident waiting to happen. I wouldn't be surprised if we cut our losses and got someone else in during the window. |

I've got FIFA 24 on the PS5 and was wondering whether it was worth getting the latest version purely to see what they did with Madsen lol. Disappointing he's not on there. [Post edited 20 Jan 17:33]

Didn't he turn down a loan move last season because he wanted to stay closer to his family? That probably limits his options. |

I do like Ange and it probably won't happen but it would be the most hilarious thing ever to see that stadium hosting Championship football, full of Korean tourists for a 12.30 kick-off against Stoke. |

Nourry knows what he wants. While his failure to admit mistakes can be criticised I prefer his approach to Les's. A frequent defence of Les was that he wanted something but was overruled by the owners. To me, if you continually accept that interference, then it makes you look weak. The approach to blooding young players early is the thing that impresses me most so far. It's crazy that we were keeping players into their early 20s hoping they'd transform overnight like Cinderella's pumpkin. I'm 50 and a tiny part of me still thinks I could be a Premier League player - and realistically there's just as much chance as the likes of Niko. |

Yes. I thought Frey didn't do too much wrong with those chances and they were fantastic saves but like they say, you need to be in the right position to miss chances. |

100%. To progress, we need to be there. Jesus, look at Bournemouth ffs - Bournemouth!!!!! The majority of London clubs are there and we must aspire to be in the top division, just as we would have in the 1980s or 1990s. |

What a manager. Seems a million years ago that we were chanting his name after the draw with Stoke. |
