He always seems to mark space and not another attacker - watched him today directing others to players he should have closed down. He really was awful today and if the manager was seeing what a lot saw he should have been taken off and then he wouldn't have gifted them the goal with a stupid defensive header. He has a good engine but probably put to better use on Come Dancing.
1. Watching it with the family on TV until the early hours 2. In bed - heard news in morning 3. Deep cleaning our carpet - seem to remember it was pouring down.
I'll play Devil's Advocate with Dunne. Yes he is young experienced and "New to the job" but is that the sort of player you introduce when you are battling for survival? Perhaps we should have invested some money in an experienced left back at some point? How's Crainey doing? Then again that word money rears it's ugly head.
Apart from the training ground becoming a reality (Players spend the vast majority of their football time at the embarrassment called Squires Gate) I would like two things to happen:-
1, Karl Oyston to "Move" sideways and just play with the money and appoint a Director of Football who has a football brain/contacts to deal with transfers/youth policy/help Riga etc. etc. I don't think KO will ever have a proper relationship now with fans - it's gone too far. 2. The main reason in my opinion why we always have and always will struggle to attract players pre-season and at other times is KO's stance on Agents (Ironic with the family's past association to an Estate Agency). It's like shopping a Tesco but only being allowed to go down one aisle. That has got to change or we will always have one hand tied behind our back.
Great night in more ways than one. I'd also like to give a nod to Perkins who covers every blade of grass on the pitch week in and out and unsettles teams. What an engine - not the cleverest of players but the work and desire he has set the benchmark for the rest IMHO.
Haven't any connection to players on the pitch yesterday like I used to have - oh there was Hoolahan . Said it all a week or two ago when a mascot's favourite player was Perkins (Perhaps he thinks he's the same age?)
81 - agree with nearly all you say apart from the League 1 players - we would struggle in League 1 with this squad. We kept ourselves in the game (just) until we scored - then we went to pieces as Norwich went up a gear and showed the real lack of quality we have. Some people must wear very thick tangerine tinted specs IMHO
