No lack of effort and I even stopped moaning about Madsen & Celar, both of whom 'put themselves about a bit'. We do need some goals from them though. Ilias too.

OK. Own up. Who thought that Morgan Fox was on the pitch?

Take a winning team, take it to bits in an effort to recreate Barcelona c.1992 using poundshop recruits from weaker and less intense foreign leagues and this is what you get. I wouldn't argue with Marti's selection today. Fox has rarely let us down but he and Chair are short of match practice. Frey never let up and Morgan looks promising. Steve is Steve. Beyond that, this strategy encourages the team to sting like butterflies and float like bees. I don't want Marti's calm. I want aggression and purpose. The Danish lads in particular look like they have just enjoyed a nice time in Christiania. What would I change? Maybe a more seasoned CEO who would be a start. Meanwhile some Novichok might go down well. .

It looked a bit like warbsball to me. Trying to play out from the back when at least some of the players are not very good at it. Rather ponderous in the build-up play.

They really haven't mastered playing out from the back, have they! Either suicidal short passing in their own goalmouth or trapped in blind alleys on the touchline.

Insipid effort. Cumbersome on the ball and little running off it until they were losing. Struggled to get the ball out of the first third. Very disappointing.

Good team effort and an enjoyable nil all. Even Willock tackling sometimes! But jeez, w need a striker. To think we thought Hugill wasn't good enough!

Cov seemed better in both boxes. It increasingly looks to me that this a team with a counter atacking game better suited to playing away and that a team with Dozell playing deeper will never control midfield. I would love to see the yards covered stats for him & Sam

Thought they fought well but several disappeared later on. Dozell, Paal. Begovic saves were as good as his distribution was bad. I don't usually question the manager's wisdom. But today's subs?

Gents, how can you rate a player (Willock in this case) who was only on the pitch for a few minutes.....

Seems a bit hard on Ozzie. I thought he did well today. The ref also, far from the worst we have had.

No luck and little that they tried came off. Most of them tried. Some of the younger ones, like Tim, just didn't seem to know what to do. The problem has to be a lack of confidence. Much as I like Jimmy's spirit, this is one of those rare moments when I wish we could have the other Dunne back, a Sergeant Major / Leader of Men type. Even Clive Dunne would be an upgrade in leadership terms. Little known fact. Dunne, Clive not Jimmy or Richard, might have played the old fogey, but was actually one of the youngest cast members in Dad's Army.

Odd. All of Burnley's goals were fortunate, but you still cannot argue with the result.

I can't believe folks don't reckon that Chair was worth more. He & Sam were the only ones effectively driving R's forward.

A good performance aided by a Coventry store who didn't press & let us play. And well done Joe. No sign of a lack of match practice there!

I usually find myself agreeing with the MOTM assessments but this time, for me, it was Dominic Ball. Not only did he have an outstanding game but after we went two down he was the one who looked noticeably pumped up for a fightback. We need a bit more of that!

No matter what the lineup, the defensive frailities remain. This points to a problem with the system. I don't think some of these players have the concentration necessary to play a system which punishes errors.

The player ratings suggest that people are getting a bit carried away with this performance and in particular by the 2nd half. In the first half R's looked (understandably) underconfident and shakey. Lots of credit to the centre halves, Mas & Pav for attitude & in particular & Luke for just about everything. But performances from others looked nervous & pedestrian, Ez doesn't seem to know what he is supposed to do and I have now lost faith in Hemed. Is he even trying?
