Got my ticket row MM of block 41. I'm expecting a good atmosphere from us singing to the empty seats. Is there any new songs I should be aware of? Or will it be the old Itchen repotoire from the odd few of us who'll actually be singing - how it should be.
Perhaps we could get some new ones going for those around to enjoy. |

Difference is Lawrie Mcmenemy was respected on merits of discipline aquired from national service and was an all round normal bloke. This guy gives you four days off despite you losing and his tactics are utter crap.
In football of the past Southampton under Lawrie, even when heading down, were able to attract Osgood. The foundations built from Bates. Martin doesn't have this, our current manager needs to build the foundations.
What "pull" does this manager have on average? Ryan Fraser and Ryan Manning. What foundations has he set? Passing round the back with his Cinderella football. What character has he instilled but for a hippy mentality and gutless spine? |

Potter maybe due to location. The four crap teams of Wolves, Saints, Palace, Ipswich - add a fifth in West Ham - would be in the market for this level of manager. Moyes won’t get a higher than average prem job and has already been at West Ham twice. Ipswich won’t sack their guy.
That leaves us fighting Palace and Wolves for his signature. We just have to be first. He’s said he wants to manage again.
Last time when we appointed Jones people said the same thing “who would come”, but everyone around us got very good managers due to the pull of the premier league. [Post edited 22 Oct 21:44]

If the board have learnt from last time they’d sack him now to avoid late arrival into the market, leading to a Jones appointment. Get the equivalent of the free Eddie Howe or Sean Dyche (2022-23 season), which this year is clearly either Potter or Moyes; Moyes being my preferred option. |

The gremlin bin dwellers who find themselves two down and bottom of their league. If we weren’t crap ourselves this would be sufficient oxygen to my week.
Looks like Leeds are, as it stands, going top (though they’ve played more games). Another unbearable club. |

Platforms in which it is cool to be ultra-contrarian and act like possession football is the best and actually entertaining.
A poll on there, currently with 357 votes, has ‘Martin Out’ winning with 50.4% to ‘Martin In’ at 49.6%. Compare this to Saints forums which average at around 80% in favour of getting rid of him. |

How was Silva in an offside position from a corner? He’s out of the way by the time Stones heads the ball, Sa had maximum possible time to react upon Stones’ heading of the ball. Add the fact Silva is tiny compared to Sa (hardly obstructs vision) and barely touches him.
It was a definite goal and the right decision. Though he made some mistakes - the Man City free kick from Lemina shouldn’t have been given - finally a ref has some balls to go to the screen and keep his decision. [Post edited 21 Oct 8:54]

Last time we went down I said “we may as well go down in style.. 20th place”. Well now the club has outdone even my expectations; they’re treating us to a 20th place with the lowest points tally ever!

The ability of the team, and their likely-hood of winning, is no excuse for fans to not chant (or make any noise at all). The problem comes from putting the loud amongst the mutes. The Itchen was kind of shit for the last few years but at least it wasn’t awkward to start a chant. Then it really would be a library. |
