Nothing wrong with being optimistic. Tomorrow will tell us a lot. It can go either way, I fear the worse & hope for the best |

A real possibility. Not long ago quite a number of fans were saying that we could make a play off push with some decent signings in the transfer window. Now we need some decent signings just to stay in this league imo that is |

He has been living in Qatar for best part of 2 years. New tax year in April, probably already spent enough days out of the country already to avoid a tax demand |

He did pretty well at Rangers, winning the SPL without losing a game & reaching a Europa League final. They lost on penalties, Aaron Ramsey missing his spot kick. His shortcomings at Villa were exposed, Emery had them playing good (winning) football within a few weeks of taking over. Gerrard was on £15m a year in Saudi, probably trousered most of that tax free too |

I have no issue cashing in but don’t see why it can’t wait until the end of the season. It all feels just opportunistic for all parties. Where’s the planning ? What is our strategy apart from sell, sell, sell. I have zero faith that he will be replaced adequately during this window, we have been here too often in the last few years. We all know that only a fraction of the £3m will be spent on bringing someone else in if anyone at all. Utter shambles. |

I maybe in a minority but letting the captain go to a team equally as poor is a pretty crap show at all levels. We will be a weaker squad without him. Anyone who believes that there is a better replacement lined up is deluded. Don’t get me started on Fulton or Allen filling that role … |

After 8 years of American ownership you actually believe that we will have someone lined up … ? |
| Forum Reply | What does Grimes transfer request tell us? at 06:07 28 Jan 2025
Grimes’s transfer request confirms that the lack of ambition has finally filtered through to the most placid of captains & players. There will be more want away players lining up moves via their agents. |

Grimes should have been relieved of the captaincy a couple of years ago. It should have been given to Darling. Changing managers so often hasn’t helped this situation. He will never make a no. 10 as longs as I have a hole in my backside. We need a new coach to come in & to shake things down & appoint a new captain |

Struggling to recall if I have ever witnessed such an uninspiring manager of men in my life. Totally lacking in any moral fibre as a leader. As for his tactics & football knowledge below average would be a massive overstatement. Clueless even with such a poor squad. Out of his depth, he needs to be put out of his misery for everyone’s benefit |

Coleman has everything to prove. He was much heralded for getting rid of Kaplan & Levein but has done nothing different to when they were in charge. His lack of knowledge & understanding of the game feels very much like it’s a case of the blind leading the blind. It’s time for leaders to show some leadership |
| Forum Reply | OI COLEMAN at 15:28 25 Jan 2025
Respect has to be earned. He may have gained a few brownie points for getting Levein & Kaplan out but his big decisions, the appointments of Duff & Williams have been disastrous. Until he shows something half positive to turn us around then it appears nothing has changed since the Yanks came in |

Managers should be banned too - especially when doing interviews - Thomas Frank & Sam Allardyce |
| Forum Reply | Swansea City v Sheffield Utd: Match day thread at 16:38 20 Jan 2025
We are due a decision against the Blades. Wasn’t it Naughton who got shoved off the ball in the 95th minute by Brewster that led to them beating a couple of years ago ? Shocking play by Naughton even worse by the referee |
| Forum Reply | Man City at 21:30 19 Jan 2025
I’m seeing Man City changing their style. Albeit against an inferior Ipswich side, Man City seem to be playing with a much faster tempo & more aggression than they have done previously. Maybe ditching the tiki taka of days gone by … |

Of a long list of issues at the club, I would say that Grimes is a long way from the top of those issues that need sorting |
