Cannot believe the double standards here. Verbal abuse is one thing but telling a bowler he is going to get his arm broken is way over the top. Imagine if a footballer was overheard threatening to break a players leg there would be no question of a fine more like a very long suspension. |

What's embarrassing is all the horseshit around in the media about this series. Would rather we just talk about the game and enjoy one of the great rivalries in world sport rather than all the bollocks being spouted.
The sad truth is that cricket is not as important to Aussies as it used to be so the geniuses at Cricket Australia are trying to hype it up in the media. The cringeworthy "don't mention Stuart Broad" is an example of this stupid approach. Most Aussies I've spoken to found this embarrassing and an insult to their intelligence. Seems like a decent guy and was the only player to really perform in the 1st innings as whilst being constantly abused by the Aussie fans, players as well as their media.
Didn't rattle him and his all's fair in love & war attitude which he voiced at the end and said its all part of test match cricket.

this test is going to hinger on how the drop in pitch plays, i would like to see england bring in mony as the extra spinner as him and swann were the only 2 to get any wickets in alice springs. however, id be surprised if the conservative management will do that, so root may be key for a couple of extra over of spin as hes better at it than kp these days.
put root in at 3 for me and keep bell where he is, that way if it does go tits up bell can atleast dig deep and try and hold it together for england (hes done it pletny of times before).
tremlett is the real conundrum for me, stick by him? get finn in there as hes go a knack for taking all be it at a high RR or stick bresnan in there who may be able to put 30-40 on with the bat as well as having watsons wicket in his pocket. |  | | |

Not going to happen though - Aussie think they have got the upper hand with this return to aggression and not going to soften approach. England can rise above it all with performance but no point trying to take high ground otherwise.
We're playing Windies at home but thats likely to drift along to a draw although all the interest now is in who the 3 ex players who are going to be done for match fixing. ICC here investigating and will be our first real taste of these shenanigans - think they'll have to name them soonish as otherwise everyone under suspicion. |  | | |

Yes, but missing Haddin who averages over 100 in test matches in Adelaide could be really costly. Carberry is normally a good fielder but I think he was too close for that chance. | |
