Is this good news? How do you feel we have performed under Coleman?

Personally im 50/50, we started off dreadfully under him but have improved. Im not too sure if he is the best man to take this talented group of players into the next qualifying group.

Finishing 3rd in this group is so important in our development as it would give us a chance to get a good group in the next qualifiers.

He is an utter cabbage. Why anyone should offer him any kind of contract is utterly beyond me. Bad news for Wales and bad news for us as Ash, Ben (or Neil) will play every minute of every meaningless sh**ty friendly from now til doomsday. I hop this is just him begging again and the faw tell him to f**k off.

I do feel we need to give him more time to allow for some consistency but as mentioned above I wish he would have more consideration for our players and not just Bale, Bellend, ramsey etc. As long as we DO keep making progress under him then he'll do.

The problem is — who would replace him?

The fact that Tony Pulis is unemployed worries me and he’d be on the FAW shortlist guaranteed just because he’s a cheap option. My suggestion would be to get Giggs on board in some capacity and take a chance on him once Coleman leaves. Otherwise we’d have to go foreign, but then the good ones are expensive and we know the FAW don’t like to spend, so who knows who we’d end up with.

The fact Bale has moved to Madrid & Ramsay has found some form surely makes the job more appealing to someone. 6 points for Wales in the next couple of games is essential to boost our ranking for the Euros.

6 points in the next 2 games and we're back in it.A long shot by any ofstretch of the imagination but we can beat Macedonia or is it Montenegro, away and then beat Serbia at home which will give us 12 points.Belguim away then though (gulp).Maybe Man Utd and Chelsea will pull out Fellaini and Hazard so who knows.

All said, after typing all that out i've woken up and remembered it's Wales,so ignore all that i've typed out.Sorry.

I agree - isn't there anybody else FFS ? No good young trainers from Holland or Denmark looking for a part-time job ?

i don't know who would take over to be honest, thats why im 50/50 on him extending. I don't think he is up for the job but then like a previous poster said i fear if Pulis was to take over.

I am just also fearful that our current crop of players will suffer under poor management just like the Giggs,Hughes,Rush era did when coached for 5 yrs by Yorath.

I do think we are a good CF short of a really strong team.

hennessy

taylor williams ?? Dvaies

allen, Ramsey, Williams

robson kanu bale
??????

This could be a good team, it's the depth behinf this that worries me.

Maybe play another winger and put Bale as a fake 9?

Can you imagine the swans contingent having to adhere to Pulis' tactics

Since I'm Danish, It's really none of my business. But does he have to be Welsh? Why not try someone from the continent?

I struggle to muster much enthusiasm for international football these days, but these are my thoughts for what it's worth.

So far, the only points we have on the board are thanks to 2 wins over Scotland. One of which was thanks to a trademark ridiculous thunderbasta*d from Bale. We look nothing like the team Speed was developing.

Opening discussions over a new contract in the middle of a qualifying campaign is classic FAW nonsense. Judge him at the end of the campaign, we may not win another game!

Macedonia home and away, Serbia home and Belgium away. I'd say we should be aiming for 4 points from those games. Any less and would Coleman deserve a new contract?

You know, Hobbes, some days even my lucky rocket ship underpants don't help.

i think we should be aiming for 7 points, 6 or less is a failure. win H and A to Macedonia and a pt at home V Serbia. I expect nothing from the Belgium game

According to Wikipedia you've had 13 Welsh and 3 English managers.

Where in the rule book does it say that the manager has to be British? Denmark didn't win sh_t until we got a German manager.

I agree about the dodgy bacon. I don't eat it. It smells like urine and probably tastes like it too.

As he is as cheap as the proverbial budgie, and so are his band of merry men

He showed his true colours when the thick c*nt couldn't see that Croatia put another body in midfield and he stood in the dug out, arms folded looking perplexed as ever

A continental coach is definitely the way forward (but preferably not that outspoken guy who was assistant to Speed).

If the FAW weren't all a bunch of numpties they'd ask Huw Jenkins to suggest someone from his extensive list of potential foreign managers. Surely somebody out there would be willing to take the job.

People continuously make excuses for Welsh failure. It's true we're a small country but over the last 30 years we've had players like Rush, Hughes, Ratcliffe, Southall, Speed, Giggs, Bale, Ramsey, Bellamy etc. Other countries can build success around lesser players than that - we really shouldn't have been as s**t as we have.

Thing is, the set up with Speed was brilliant. Roden provided excellent sports science back up, Verheijhen provided both conditioning and tactical insight and Osian was good delivering sessions.

Was Dutch Ray outspoken? Absolutely.

Could he do a better job than dumb and dumber in charge at the momen?. With his eyes closed

This is the FAW. If they got rid of one brainless dork, they would employ another. Teamwear Tony Pus-face would be nailed on.

In fact that's probably why Cookie's making so much contract noise; I bet the FAW senile mob are seriously considering trying to ditch him for Pus-face.

I agree. I was hoping that Verheijhen would get the job at the time, but some of his comments in the press afterwards made him seem like a ****. I don't doubt his ability.

A young coach with continental ideas is the way to go - I don't want to see someone like Trappatoni who would probably regard the job as well-paid retirement.

Pulis would be the end for many Me included. Coleman isn't too bad, he's his own biggest fan and his soccer speak is a bit tiring at times but the team has look alright lately and he's yet to have everybody available at the same time so fingers crossed we'll get six points over the next two games and who knows what might happen.

Coleman made a huge mistake when he did not retain the services of Verheijhen.I have heard him recently on the radio. He is still mad but brilliant..I believe that he was definitely the main reason that we did so well under Gary Speed.Gary had not previously shown any great managerial ability.

I'm not going to get dragged into another Coleman thread am I?

Most of you know my thoughts. We are getting better under him and fail to see who would replace him and do a better job. Mostly, Wales' problem has been getting the best 11 on the pitch at any one time. When we have had a strong team out, we have done well.

We just need to support our country and stop moaning about the manager or how crap we are.

Tonights game won't be easy. Macedonia are no pushovers -

Croatia 1-0 Macedonia
Scotland 1-1 Macedonia
Macedonia 1-2 Croatia
Macedonia 1-0 Serbia
Macedonia 0-2 Belgium
Belgium 1-0 Macedonia

I'd certainly take a point tonight.

Genetically, paedophiles have more genes in common with crabs than they do with you and me. Now that is scientific fact. There's no real evidence for it, but it is scientific fact.
